Our students had a beautiful Homecoming, our fantastic football team was recognized as the “High 5 Team of the Week”, our reenergized PTSA held several engagement meetings, our talented Fine Arts students presented their first ensemble this year involving our band, chorus, and drama programs, and we capped the month off by celebrating our Teacher of the Year, Ms. Ollienia Holloway. It is important that we acknowledge and take the time to celebrate small successes during our journey. Identifying and celebrating success as it happens helps us build a successful mind set. By celebrating smaller success you are actually communicating to your mind that “I am successful”. It is important that you know your own weaknesses, but essential that you know that you can succeed. Remember that ASTROS really means, All Students Traveling Roads Of Success. A special thank you to all who attended the scheduled Community Meetings or joined PTSA. Your present and future engagement means a great deal to our students. Please take a few minutes to review our monthly calendar for other highlights and key events that will take place in November. We have lots to be thankful for during the month of November. All meetings will be held at Douglass High School Cluster Planning: Thursday, November 12 @ 8:30 AM Cluster Community Meeting: Thursday, December 10 @ 5:30 Best regards, @APSDouglsass High Parent of the Month “Tamecia Sadler” Ms. Sadler is the mother of 11th grader Isaiah Small and Derrica Kemp.
