AN ACT CREATING AN ADDITIONAL BRANCH OF THE
REGIONAL TRIAL COURT TO BE STATIONED
IN SORSOGON CITY, SITUATED IN THE
PROVINCE OF SORSOGON, IN THE F IF T H
JUDICIAL REGION, FURTHER AMENDING FOR
THE PURPOSE SECTION 14, PARAGRAPH (F) OF
BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 129, O TH ERW ISE
KNOWN AS "THE JUDICIARY REORGANIZATION
ACT OF 1980", AS AMENDED, AND APPROPRIATING
FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives o f the
Philippines in Congress assembled:
S ection l. An additional branch of the Regional Trial
Court to be stationed in the City of Sorsogon, situated in the
Province of Sorsogon, is hereby created in the Fifth Judicial
Region.
S ec . 2. The Suprem e C ourt shall assign th e branch
n u m b e r for th e new ly c re a te d b ran ch of th e R egional
T ria l C ourt in th e F ifth J u d ic ia l Region.
S ec . 3. The C hief J u s tic e of th e S u p rem e C ourt,
in c o o rd in a tio n w ith th e S e c re ta ry of th e D e p a rtm e n t
of J u s tic e , s h a ll im m ed iately in clu d e in th e C o u rt's
program the op eratio n alizatio n of the ad d itio n al branch
of th e R egional T rial C ourt in th e City of Sorsogon, th e
fu n d in g of w hich s h a ll be in c lu d e d in th e A n n u a l
G e n e ra l A p p ro p ria tio n s Act. The funds n ece ssary for
th e o p e ra tio n of th e co u rt h e re in c re a te d s h a ll be
a p p r o p r i a t e d a n d r e le a s e d o n ly u p o n th e a c t u a l
o rg a n iz a tio n of th e co u rt an d th e a p p o in tm e n t of its
personnel.
S ec . 4. S ection 14(f) of B atas P am b an sa Big. 129,
o th erw ise know n as "The Ju d iciary R eo rg an izatio n Act
of 1980", as am en d ed , and all o th e r law s, ex ecu tiv e
orders, and rules and regulations which are in co n sisten t
w ith th is Act are hereby am ended, repealed, or m odified
accordingly.
S ec . 6. This Act sh all tak e effect fifteen (15) days
a fte r its com plete p u b licatio n in two (2) n ew sp ap ers of
g e n e ra l circu latio n .
