1 Shrek: The Musical Auditions Based on DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and the Book by William Steig Music by Jeanine Tesori, Book and Lyrics by David LindsayAbaire Director : Nupi Gokhale Choreographer : Tina Rath Producer : Paul Bottrell Set in a mythical “once upon a time” sort of land, Shrek: The Musical is the story of a large green ogre who, after being mocked and feared his entire life by anything that crosses his path, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation. When a gang of homeless fairytale creatures raid his sanctuary after being evicted by the evil, Lord Farquaad, Shrek journeys to the “perfect town” of Duloc to win back his swamp. But when Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord strikes a deal: he’ll give the fairytale creatures their homes back, if Shrek rescues the imprisoned Princess Fiona and brings her back to marry Lord Farquaad. Shrek obliges, and along the way befriends a talking Donkey, and surprisingly, finds something appealing and different in this pretty princess. He likes her a lot. But why does she always run off when the sun sets? 2 Note : All actors will be exposed to or required to wear latex makeup products and/or prosthetics.
