QLD/NT Chapter Conference 2016
9-11 June 2016 - Hotel Grand Chancellor, Brisbane
Welcome
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the AIBS QLD/NT Chapter Conference for 2016 – Facing the
Challenges.
Our annual Conference is a key event in which building surveying professionals have an opportunity to
develop a better understanding of the responsibilities and duties imposed on them by Acts and Regulations
and is a must attend event for all those who want to further understand industry developments, and issues
of prominence.
The focus of this year’s conference is “Facing the Challenges”, and will showcase how diverse and challenging
our profession can be.
The speakers represent a wide variety of areas across our industry sector and will bring expertise and
experience to their presentations.
You our members and stakeholders within the building industry play a fundamental role in the success of
an event such as this. It is your contribution, knowledge and experiences which bring added depth to the
discussions that are stimulated through the high caliber presentations you will see.
One of the most important features of our Conference is the valuable networking opportunities with fellow
colleagues and industry professionals. Our delegates will include Building Surveying Professionals from
the private and government sector, and others professions involved in our industry. The relationships
you develop at events such as these provide you with the pathways to future prospects and the ability to
exchange knowledge and ideas relevant to the science of building.
On behalf of my colleagues on the QLD/NT Chapter Executive Committee, I hope that you find this conference
informative, stimulating and beneficial to your work as a Building Surveyor. I urge you to make the most of
this opportunity to catch up and network with your colleagues and fellow professionals.
