Friends and family members have established these scholarships and written the criteria to honor those special people who touched the lives of so many. Please take your time as you read the criteria and get to know about them. ONLY apply for those scholarships for which you meet the criteria. Also, please make sure you include all documents that are requested for specific scholarships. Note: Awards may vary based on number of applicants and funds available. Joseph C. Abbott Memorial Scholarship Minerva and Joe Abbott established this fund to provide a scholarship to a high school student who plans to attend Miami University and major in business. Before his retirement in 1995, Mr. Abbott was Vice President and General Manager of Mosler, Inc. He was a well-known and respected community leader who served on the boards of many organizations, including the Hamilton Community Foundation. He was elected to the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame in 1996, just months before his death. The Abbott’s three daughters are Paula Glander, Linda DiBenedetto and Nancy Lee. Award: $2,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Elizabeth V. Allen Memorial Scholarship Although Miss Allen was born in Vermont, she made her home in Hamilton during the last 15 years of her life. Miss Allen was a graduate of Skidmore College, with a Master of Science from Columbia University. She was very interested in helping those in the community who were less fortunate. At the time of her death, this scholarship was established by her friends and family in her memory. Award: $1,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Pauline E. Antenen Memorial Scholarship This fund was created by Mrs. Antenen’s family in her memory. The scholarship is for a student who will continue to study music in college. Mrs. Antenen was an accomplished vocalist and was very well-known in local musical circles. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Bill Arnold Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by the Board of Directors of the West Side Little League in memory of Bill Arnold to offer scholarships for players who participate in the West Side Little League. Bill was involved with the West Side Little League most of his life as a player, coach, manager and Board member. He was instrumental in founding the Challenger League for players with disabilities. Preference: student who participated in baseball. Award: $500 for one year – Merit Based Carl P. and Ellen A. Bartels Memorial Scholarship This fund was established through a bequest from Carl P. Bartels. His wish was to provide scholarships for graduating students from Hamilton High and Badin High Schools enrolling in a college engineering program. Mr. Bartels served as a Trustee of the Foundation. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Bast-Connelly Memorial Merit Scholarship The Foundation received a gift from the estate of Mrs. Mary Virginia Bast-Connelly. This gift is to be used for a scholarship for deserving academic students, regardless of financial need. Award: $2,500 for one year – Merit Based Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 3 Isabel Beardsley Memorial Scholarship Miss Beardsley left the major portion of her estate to the Hamilton Community Foundation to establish an unrestricted fund to benefit the community and a scholarship fund to encourage young people to enter careers in social service – caring field of study. Miss Beardsley was the first professional Social Service Director in Hamilton. She maintained a lifelong concern for her city and generously supported many organizations, including the Front Street Presbyterian Church. Miss Beardsley also donated heirloom silver pieces and furniture to the Lane-Hooven House. Award: $2,500 per year for four years – Merit Based David L. & Margery Beckett Belew Merit Scholarship Consistent with their lifelong interest in music, the Belews established their scholarship to encourage musically talented young people who want to pursue a career in music. Their scholarship is awarded to a senior who has demonstrated outstanding musical ability, and who has shared those talents with the school and the community. The Belews have two children, Guy Beckett Belew and Sally Conrad Streeter, and six grandchildren. Mr. Belew served two terms as President of the Board of Trustees (1970-71, 1999-2001) and now serves as Trustee Emeritus at the Foundation. Award: $1,000 for one year – Merit Based Esther Benzing Memorial Scholarship Mrs. Benzing, an esteemed area historian and author, established this scholarship fund for the benefit of area high school seniors. The recipient must be a student interested in pursuing additional educational opportunities in the field of agriculture. Mrs. Benzing had a history of volunteering her time for many worthwhile projects. Award: $500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Elizabeth R. Betten Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by Cornelius Betten in memory of his wife, Elizabeth. Additional contributions were made in 1999, at the death of his daughter, Mary Betten Katz. Mr. Betten is a retired research chemist with Champion International. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Brian Blount Memorial Scholarship This fund, established in Brian’s memory by his parents, Jim and Jackie Blount, and his sister, Lori Blount Shook, provides a scholarship to a graduate of Hamilton High School who plans to attend a four-year college. Brian, a graduate of Hamilton High and an honors graduate of Indiana University and DePaul University, died October 3, 1997, at the age of 33. Preference: A student who is a member of an athletic team, flag corps, or cheerleader who is interested and proficient in history and/or government Award: $500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ William J. Boehm Foundation - Connector Manufacturing Company Scholarship William J. Boehm, Chairman, Connector Manufacturing Company, established this fund to support the children of Connector employees in their pursuit of obtaining a college education. Mr. Boehm passed away March 3, 2012. Scholarships are awarded to applicants who meet the award criteria of academic achievement, citizenship, leadership qualities, extracurricular activities and employment records. Student must have a parent currently employed at Connector Manufacturing Co. and maintain a 3.0GPA. Award: $3,000 per year for four years – Merit Based Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 4 Mr. and Mrs. W. Otis Briggs Scholarship This fund was created by the Board of Trustees in honor of Mr. Briggs’ retirement as Executive Director of the Hamilton Community Foundation. Additional funds were added at Mr. Briggs’ death in 1995. The fund offers a scholarship to a student planning to attend the Hamilton campus of Miami University and majoring in human care services (nursing, social sciences, etc.). Mr. Briggs, a Founder and Trustee of the Hamilton Community Foundation, has been described as the “Architect of the Foundation.” He was its first Executive Director and served until his retirement in 1980. He was also the Executive Director of the United Way of Hamilton from 1943 to 1976. His second wife, Virginia, retired in 1981 after 19 years with United Way. She is an active volunteer for service organizations and projects in our community. Otis had two sons, Wayne Briggs and Lloyd Briggs, two daughters, Judy Athey and Marty Comb, and a stepson, J.D. White. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Barbara Beeler Bronson Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in memory of Mrs. Bronson by her family to provide a scholarship for a senior from Hamilton High or Badin High Schools planning to attend Miami University. Mrs. Bronson was a member of the Westover Services Guild, serving as president for many years. She served 14 years on the Westover Board of Directors. She married Robert Malcolm Bronson and had one son, Malcolm H. Bronson. Mrs. Bronson passed away on September 11, 1994. Award: $2,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Pat Bucheit Memorial Scholarship This fund was created to honor the memory of Patricia Swink Bucheit, a teacher with the Hamilton City Schools for 31 years, by her husband, Rex, Principal of Fillmore Elementary School. The Bucheits are the parents of two children, Kimberly Westrick and Stephen Bucheit. This scholarship is to be awarded to a previous Fillmore Elementary student planning to major in education at Miami University. Award: $1,000 for one year – Merit Based Anne B. Carr Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in memory of Anne upon her death early February of 2007. Anne chaired the Foundation’s Scholarship selection committee for many years and was passionate about assisting students with their educational needs. This scholarship is to benefit a Hamilton High School or New Miami High School student. Award: $500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ The Jeffrey Michael Chambers Memorial Scholarship Fund This fund was originally established by contributions from a very close friend and family members of Jeffrey Michael Chambers. Contributions to this fund have continued since the inception of this fund. Jeffrey Michael Chambers was educated in the Hamilton Schools. Following graduation, he went to college and then joined the Navy, where he was a student in Nuclear Training. On January 7, 1990, at the age of 21, he was killed in a motorcycle accident. His memory will live on through the scholarship that has been set up in his name at the Foundation. He was the son of Michael and Claudia Chambers and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gibson and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Chambers. Award: $500 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Andrea Chizek Memorial Scholarship Andrea Wagner Chizek lost her courageous battle with cancer on May 5, 2010. Her husband, Marc, established this fund to honor her commitment to education. Andi was passionate about learning. As a dedicated teacher, she shared her love of knowledge with her students. Andi enjoyed teaching in the Hamilton City School District for more than 30 years. She was honored with many awards and recognized by her peers and administrators for her outstanding academic contributions and commitment to the community. Emily Dickinson wrote, “Not knowing when the dawn will come, I open every door." Andi opened door after door throughout her life. This fund will open the door to higher learning to a senior who attended Monroe/Ridgeway Elementary and who is graduating from Hamilton High School planning to pursue a degree in education. Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 5 Award: $500 for one year – Based on Need $$$ The Civelles Scholarship Fund The Civelles, a community service organization of women, established this fund to provide a scholarship for a female high school senior. Founded in 1953, the Civelles have helped children and families of Butler County and provided scholarships for young women upon graduation from high school. Award: $2,000 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Thelma Clark and Jennie Ekstein Memorial Scholarship This gift was made from the estate of Miss Thelma Clark. The fund provides scholarships for women graduates of Hamilton High School majoring in English at Miami University, with a preference given to someone who intends to teach high school English. The fund is named for Miss Clark and her mother, Jennie Ekstein. Miss Clark passed away on January 8, 2002, at the age of 95. Award: $1,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Harry and Margaret Cleaver Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cleaver in memory of his parents, Harry and Margaret. Mr. and Mrs. Cleaver chose to give back to the community by setting up this scholarship in their memory. The scholarship will benefit students who meet a combination of financial and academic criteria. Award: $500 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Robert J. and Mary E. Cleaver Scholarship This fund was established by Mr.& Mrs. Robert Cleaver to provide educational opportunities for others. Both had careers in education and have lived, worked and raised their family in Hamilton. Robert was principal of Ross High School for several years in the 1940s, and Betty taught English at Harding Junior High School for 17 years. Robert Cleaver passed away in 2006. Award: $500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Mr. and Mrs. Richard Connelly Memorial Scholarship Fund This scholarship was established from the estate of Mrs. Mary Virginia Connelly to be used for a scholarship for deserving students who need assistance in acquiring their educations regardless of financial need. Mr. Richard Connelly wrote for the Journal-News. Mrs. Connelly passed away October 28, 1992. Award: $2,500 for one year – Merit Based Gladys & Dolphus Cornett Memorial Scholarship Gladys and Dolphus came from a large family, grew up farming and knew the meaning of hard work, dedication and perseverance. When Gladys first spotted Dolphus at their church, she told her sister that he was the one for her. They dated, married in 1934 and had a daughter, Athalene in 1935. Gladys took care of the family but also raised the garden, canned food, fed the chickens and milked the cows. She was very supportive of Dolphus in his pursuit of an education and his teaching career. Dolphus received his teaching certificate in 1932, bachelor’s degree in 1947 and then his master’s degree in 1949 from Eastern Kentucky University. In 1954, Dolphus accepted a teaching position with the Hamilton City Schools and taught there until 1971. Gladys and Dolphus both worked hard all their lives and never gave up on anything they wanted to accomplish. Dolphus passed away in 1977 at the age of 77 and Gladys passed away in 2011 at the age of 97. This scholarship was established to support students who also have that perseverance and love of learning that the Cornetts’ had throughout their lives. Students must have 3.0 GPA. Award: $2,500 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Sanford Eaffy Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by a bequest from the estate of Sanford Eaffy. The fund provides scholarships for deserving minority students from Hamilton High School planning to attend Miami University Hamilton. Mr. Eaffy was a partner with William Murstein in the ownership and operation of Wilmurs Department Store. Award: $2,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 6 Janet and Gene Eggleston Scholarship This scholarship was established in memory of Janet Eggleston upon her death February 27, 2011. Janet was a 1958 graduate of Hamilton High School and graduated from Miami University with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught art at Harding Jr. High School from 1962 to 1965. Janet married Gene E. Eggleston, and they are the parents of two children, Brian and Lisa. Janet and Gene started a marketing communications firm, Eggleston Advertising. Janet was an active school, community, and church volunteer. This scholarship is to be awarded annually to a graduating senior from Hamilton High School who plans a career in art education or graphic arts. Award: $1,000 for one year – Based on Need $$$ David R. and Dorothy S. Eichel Memorial Scholarship This fund was established from the estate of Mr. Eichel for the higher education of deserving children in our area. Mr. Eichel was an engineer at Champion International. He and his wife, Dorothy, felt strongly that all children should have a chance to obtain a college degree. Student must be a Hamilton resident. Award: $2,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Robert and Cora Fiehrer Scholarship This fund was established by Bob and Cora Fiehrer to provide a scholarship for a student planning post-secondary training to obtain either an associate degree or a certificate that will prepare them for a career in the field of their choice. Robert Fiehrer is the owner of Fiehrer Motors, Inc. He and his wife, Cora, have three children, Thomas and Daniel Fiehrer, and Juliet Klepec. Award: $500 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Shiri B. Frank Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by Errol S. Frank in memory of his daughter, Shiri, to provide a scholarship for a student who is planning to attend college and major in education. Miss Frank was killed in an automobile accident at age 18. She was a talented writer who had just graduated from Hamilton High School and planned to attend Miami University and major in education. Award: $500 for one year – Merit Based John O. & Zerelda Fry Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cleaver in memory of Mrs. Cleaver’s parents, John and Zerelda. Mr. Fry was the principal at Hamilton High School and Mrs. Fry was a popular teacher. This scholarship will benefit area students who meet a combination of financial and academic criteria. Award: $500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Ruth Garrett Memorial Scholarship This fund was established from the estate of Ruth Garrett to provide a scholarship to a senior at Hamilton High School planning to go into the medical field. Mrs. Garrett was employed as a secretary at the Estate Stove Company. Mrs. Garrett passed away on October 19, 1996, at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie, in 1973. Award: $1,000 for one year - Merit Based Kenneth V. Getz Memorial Scholarship This fund, established by friends and family in memory of Kenneth Getz, provides a scholarship to an area high school senior planning to major in finance. Mr. Getz was employed at First National Bank of Southwestern Ohio. Ken and his wife, Diane, had four children, Doug, Kevin, David and Krissy Hoffman. Award: $1,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Austin and Lois Gleason Scholarship This fund was created by Austin and Lois Gleason to award a scholarship to an outstanding student athlete Mr. Gleason is a retired pharmacist and Mrs. Gleason taught school in the Fairfield School District. The Gleasons are the parents of two children, Austin W. Gleason, Jr. (Wes), and Melanie Joy Farler. Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 7 Award: $1,000 for one year – Merit Based Fannie Gray Memorial Scholarship This scholarship was established by the estate of Fannie Gray to benefit African-American students excelling in academic courses and planning to attend college. Award: $500 for one year - Merit Based Mildred Hackley Memorial Scholarship This fund was established from the estate of Mildred Hackley for income to be distributed annually to a deserving student, with preference to a minority student. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Hamilton Professional Firefighters Assoc. IAFF Local 20 This fund was established by the Hamilton Professional Firefighters Association to help make a difference in the lives of area youth, not only by saving lives and property, but also in the form of financial assistance for college. The fund will provide a merit-based scholarship to a graduate of a high school in Hamilton who is pursuing education at an institution of higher learning. Preference: Student active in community, 3.0GPA. Award: $500 for one year – Merit Based Hamilton Junior Women’s League Scholarship The Hamilton Junior Women's League was organized in 1946 and the Auxiliary was founded in 1959. These organizations have a proud history of community service, as well as making charitable contributions to local non-profits with proceeds from their annual Holiday Ball. This fund was established by the Club to award a scholarship to a student graduating from Hamilton High School or Badin High School. Preference will be given to a female student demonstrating financial need, displaying merit in school work, and involvement in school and community activities. Award: $500 per year for four years – Based on Need $$$ Hamilton Rotary Scholarship This scholarship is funded by the activities and members of our local Rotary Club. This scholarship supports students from Hamilton High School and Badin High School who want to attend college and are active in their community and school. Students must live in Hamilton City limits. Award: $2,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ The Hamilton Rotary Revels/Ryan Hall Scholarship This scholarship was established by the Hamilton Rotary in honor of fellow member Ryan Hall. This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in performing art—theatre, music, etc. Students must live in Hamilton City limits. Award: $2,000 for one year—Based on Need $$$ Jack and Norma Hand Merit Scholarship This fund was established by Jack and Norma to offer a scholarship to a graduating senior based on academic achievement and leadership skills. Mr. Hand is retired from Hand Oil Company. Mr. and Mrs. Hand are the parents of six children, Christie, Kitty, Liz, John, Betsy and Melissa. Award: $500 for one year – Merit Based Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 8 Davene Harris Memorial Scholarship The family and friends of Davene Harris wished to honor her memory with a scholarship for a senior with financial need and pursuing higher education. Mrs. Harris served in the Hamilton City Schools for 27 years in various capacities from Library Aide to Building Secretary. She left a legacy of faith, dedication and integrity to all who knew her. She never missed an opportunity to encourage others, especially students. The scholarship is intended to continue this encouragement by assisting young people who have done the best they could academically and are intent on realizing their full potential and purpose. Davene devoted most of her time to her church, Immanuel Baptist, where she was involved as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher. Her other favorite past-time was her grandchildren. Mrs. Harris was the wife of Lonnie Ray Harris and the mother of Jeff Harris and Michelle Harris Fall. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ William L. and Linda M. Hartford Scholarship This fund, offering a scholarship to a graduating senior, was established by Star Bank (now U.S. Bank) in honor of Bill’s retirement as Vice President in the Commercial Loan Department. Mr. Hartford has served on many boards, including United Way, Rotary, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and the Hamilton Community Foundation. He and his wife, Linda, have three children, Christopher, Peter and Scott. Mr. Hartford was a former Trustee and past President (1980-81) of the Foundation. Mr. Havighurst was a Miami University professor emeritus, an author, English teacher and Miami history buff who devoted his career and much of his life to the Oxford school. Walter lived in Oxford for more than 60 years before he passed away at age 92. Mrs. Havighurst was a poet, novelist, nature lover and English department colleague. She passed away in 1974. This scholarship is designated for a student planning to attend Miami University. Award: $2,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Ned and Elizabeth Hitchcock Memorial Scholarship To honor Ned’s retirement as President and CEO of Second National Bank (now U.S. Bank), this fund was started to assist deserving students who showed an interest in the field of business and finance. During his lifetime, Ned was active in many community organizations, including serving on boards of Lane Public Library, the Children’s Home and Hughes Hospital. He and his wife, Elizabeth, are the parents of three children, Ned Hitchcock II, Neal Hitchcock and Elizabeth Hoover. Mr. Hitchock passed away in 1999 and Mrs. Hitchcock passed away August 30, 2009. The income from this fund is distributed annually to provide scholarships to a graduating student from Hamilton High and Badin High School who plans to major in education. Award: $500 for one year -Based on Need $$$ Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 9 Hogan Field Scholarship Fund This scholarship was established by the Hogan family in honor of the Hogan Field airport. This was the name given to Hamilton's airport, which was owned and operated by the Hogan brothers, Joe, Bernie, Art and Bill for over 50 years, beginning in 1933. The airport was designed to be a full service operation including aircraft maintenance and repair, air charter, flight and G.I. training. The Hogan brothers were nationally honored as aviation pioneers at the Dayton Air Fair. The airport built and developed by the Hogan family and friends, is an ultra-modern facility which today is named the Butler County Regional Airport-Hogan Field. This scholarship is named in memory of the Hogan brothers and is awarded to a student pursuing post-secondary education. Award: $500 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Jane E. Howe Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by friends and family of Miss Howe to provide a nursing scholarship for an area student. Miss Howe graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing in 1935. She worked as medical secretary for Dr. James Carr, served on Western College Board and was involved with Westover Retirement Community. Award: $1,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Jacque & Linda Huber Scholarship This scholarship fund supports students from Hamilton, Badin or Fairfield High Schools, who exhibit financial need and are interested in obtaining a college education. Jacque Huber is retired from Southwestern Ohio Steel as President and CEO. He and Linda have a number of charitable interests including Lindenwald United Methodist Church and the University of Notre Dame. They are the parents of four children, Brian, Kathy, Kara and Carla. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Mary Lou Hyatt Memorial Scholarship The family of Mrs. Hyatt established a scholarship fund in her memory. This scholarship benefits a graduate of Hamilton High School pursuing an education in music and is based on financial need and merit. Mr. and Mrs. Hyatt are the parents of three children, Carrie Wynn, Emily Jane and Anne Marie. Mrs. Hyatt passed away on March 20, 2002, at the age of 53. Award: $500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Lamont B. Jacobs Orthodontic Merit Scholarship This fund was established by Dr. Jacobs to support students pursuing a degree in the dental field. Award: $2,000 for one year – Merit Based Dr. & Mrs. Edward Kezur Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in memory of Dr. & Mrs. Edward Kezur. Dr. Kezur was a retired pioneer in the field of psychology as well as a well-known artist. Both he and his wife were interested in education and helping others. This scholarship is offered to a Hamilton or Badin High School student pursing a degree in the caring fields of medicine, therapy or social work. Award: $2,500 for one year – Merit Based Susan Kezur Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in memory of Dr. Edward and Isabel Kezur’s mentally and physically impaired daughter, Susan, to offer scholarships to students who are planning to work with individuals with disabilities. Lang Educational Scholarship was created to support students undertaking educational endeavors in the healthcare profession. Louise graduated from Norwood High School and earned her degree from the University of Cincinnati. She worked as an administrative assistant in the laboratories of Hamilton Mercy Hospital for 30 years and set up the laboratories at Fairfield Mercy Hospital. Lousie worked as a research consultant for Ortho Pharmaceutical Co. where she was instrumental in developing bloodbanking and pregnancy testing. Her work was published in the Journal of OB/GYN. Later works were published in various medical journals. Louise was a member of the Altrusa Club International, past president of the Cooperative Services League of Hamilton, member of the Board of Trustees for Senior Citizens and the Hamilton Altrusa Club. During her years of service, she helped create Hospice of Miami Valley. Louise Lang passed away on December 11, 2010. Award: $1,500 for one year – Based on Merit Paul "Nick" Lauer Memorial Scholarship Fund This fund was established in memory of Nick Lauer by his family. A brick layer for 50 years, this fund will provide scholarships to Hamilton High graduates interested in pursuing post secondary education in one of the construction trades including carpentry, brick masonry, plumbing, electrical or construction management or engineering. Nick passed away in August, 2006, and was preceded in death by his wife Betty, who passed away in September, 1987. They are the parents of five children, Carol Christian, Nick, Cheryl Griesinger, Joni Copas and Jerry. Award: $1,000 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Shirley M. Leppert Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in memory of Shirley Leppert, a very beloved teacher at the Presbyterian Preschool. This scholarship is for students with physical disabilities who plan to attend college. Awards are Based on Need $$$ and merit. Applicants must be a resident of Hamilton. Shirley was a dedicated member of “Sallies,” the Salvation Army Auxiliary Club. She also was a Meals on Wheels driver. An avid traveler, she traveled around the world three times visiting 55 foreign countries. She also enjoyed playing bridge. Shirley was the wife of Harold and mother of two sons, Gregory and David. Limerick Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in 2009 to provide a scholarship to a student pursuing a two-year college degree, or plan to attend a trade school or an apprenticeship program. This scholarship supports students from Hamilton High School and Badin High School that want to attend college. The scholarship benefits a student majoring in engineering. Award: $1,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Calvin and Maryann Lingler Scholarship This fund was established to provide a scholarship to a male student planning to attend college.The Linglers are retired from the Martin J. Lingler Company, which was founded by Calvin’s father, Martin J. Lingler. Both have been active in many community activities and have received the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 11 Donald and Kathryn Litzelfelner Memorial Scholarship Donald and Kathryn Litzelfelner established this fund to carry out their strong belief in the value of education and their conviction that every person who wants a college education should have the opportunity to earn one. Mr. Litzelfelner, deceased, was the former CEO of Star Bank (now U.S. Bank). Kathryn passed away July 2011. Mrs. Litzelfelner was a retired assistant principal of Hamilton High School. Both served on the Board of Trustees of Westover Retirement Home. Their five children are Charlotte Root, Frank A. Hunold, Jr., Joseph F. Hunold, Betsy Anderson and Kathryn Horton. This scholarship is to be awarded to a resident of Hamilton who is planning to attend Miami University and pursue a four year degree. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ John E. MacGregor Memorial Scholarship Fund This fund was established by the family of John E. MacGregor in his memory, with the purpose of providing student scholarships. Mr. MacGregor retired in 1989 after 29 years with the Black Clawson Company as a pattern maker and 12 years with Wangner Systems as a sales engineer. Mr. MacGregor served in the Merchant Marines in World War II and received the Purple Heart for service in the Korean War. His widow, Patricia Newman MacGregor, and he are the parents of four children, Marcia Schlichter, John A. MacGregor, Nancy Brockhoff and Christina Hackney. Award: $500 for one year – Based on Merit Manitsas Health Services Scholarship This scholarship fund was established by Mrs. William Wolf in honor of Dr. Manitsas and is given to a deserving student who is majoring in a health science field. Dr. Manitsas is a leading physician in Hamilton whose practice deals with cardiovascular diseases. Preference: A student majoring in higher mathematics or sciences. Award: $3,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ George C. & Freida B. McCandless Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by George C. and Frieda B. McCandless. Mrs. McCandless was Vice Mayor of Hamilton, an officer in state and local mental health organizations, President of the League of Women Voters, and Chairman of the United Way Planning Division. George C. McCandless was a former state senator and had been honored by the Butler County Bar Association for his 50 years of service as a lawyer. At Mr. McCandless' death in 1989, he requested that a scholarship be given in both their names. Mr. McCandless had one daughter, Sara Curryer Pringle. Award: $2,000 per year for four years - Based on Need $$$ Jeanne S. and Don J. Meeks Memorial Scholarship Fund This fund was originally established by Jeanne as a memorial to her husband, Don. After her death in 1997, her name was added. Both Jeanne and Don wanted to offer an opportunity to any student wishing to further his or her education. Jeanne was a homemaker and Don was a radio and television announcer at WMOH, WLW and WCPO. Their daughter is Linda M. Hartford. Award: $ 750 a year for four years – Based on Need $$$ Ira and Zenaid Millikin Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by Julia Millikin Rossiter, in memory of her parents, Ira and Zenaid Millikin. The fund is to provide scholarships for students residing in Hamilton. Award: $2,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 12 Daniel Monnin Memorial Scholarship Steve and Susan Monnin created this scholarship in memory of their beloved son, Daniel. Daniel was a loyal friend, employee, brother and son; he had an intensity to have fun and live life to its fullest. He worked hard in college and at the police academy setting goals he was determined to meet. He pushed himself as well as encouraged others to achieve their dreams and accomplish their goals. Especially those who weren’t “expected” to do well. Daniel was also very involved in the baseball community of Hamilton. This merit-based scholarship supports a Hamilton or Badin High School graduating senior with a preference to a student playing softball or baseball at Hamilton High School who also participated in the West Side Little League. **NOTE: This scholarship requires an additional essay that describes how you push yourself to meet your goals as well as how you encourage others to do the same. Award: $1,000 for one year – Based on Merit Mallory K. Naab Memorial Fine Arts Scholarship This scholarship was established following the death of Mallory K. Naab in a tragic automobile accident in November of 2002. Mallory was a multi-talented 16-year-old. She was a singer, thespian, adept in drama and choreography, a lyricist, writer and student leader. She sang in several church choirs and the concert choir at her school, Ursuline Academy. Her many activities included the Hamilton Youth Commission and the Encore Theatre group. This fund provides a scholarship for a graduate of Ursuline Academy, Badin High School or Hamilton High School, attending college and majoring in the fine arts. Award: $500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Elizabeth Wente Newkirk Memorial Scholarship The Newkirk family established this fund in memory Mrs. Newkirk, a dedicated community volunteer for many organizations. Mrs. Newkirk founded the Volunteer Service Bureau and helped to establish the Day Care Center at Pilgrim Baptist Church. She served as a Board Member for the Cincinnati Preservation Society, volunteered at the Heritage Museum in Sharon Woods, and supported many animal, environmental and preservation organizations. Mrs. Newkirk passed away on May 25, 2002. This scholarship was established to support a Hamilton High School student pursing a degree in early childhood education. Award: $1,000 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Rudy F. Oaklets Memorial Scholarship Fund This fund was established by Irma Schwab Oaklets, in memory of her husband, Rudy F. Oaklets. Mr. Oaklets was a graduate of Miami University with a master’s degree in education. He retired after many years of teaching, coaching and serving as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Garfield High School in Hamilton. Throughout his life, he remained interested in the Hamilton schools and athletic programs. This scholarship will benefit one male and one female senior three-sport athlete at Hamilton High School with the highest cumulative GPA, planning to attend college. Mr. Oaklets passed away March 9, 2001. According to Mrs. Oaklets, her husband “greatly enjoyed teaching and coaching, and always attempted to be a good role model for his students.” Award: $500 each for one year – Merit Based Andy Osborne Family Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in July, 2008 to provide a scholarship to a Hamilton High School student with financial need and pursuing an undergraduate degree from Miami University in a medical field. The scholarship was established in memory of the Andy Osborne family who resided in Hamilton for more than 40 years. Andy was married to Jeanetta for many years. Andy was a heavy equipment mechanic. They had two children, Janice and Ronnie. Jeanetta, Ronnie and Janice suffered from muscular dystrophy throughout their lives. Jeanetta passed away at the age of 42, Ronnie worked at Hamilton Tool Company and passed away at the age of 48, and Janice passed away in 2007 at the age of 61. Upon Janice's death, at her request, this scholarship fund was established. Ottman Memorial Scholarship Established through the estate of Eva Ottman, this fund reflects Howard and Eva Ottman’s desire to support a young person who is trying, through his or her education, to help make the world a better place. Howard and Eva were owners of Howard’s Candy Kitchen in Hamilton for 20 years. Their lives revolved around St. John’s Church, their business and their friends. They anonymously supported various charities and individuals and felt blessed by their desire to help others in need. Preference: A student planning to major in social work, medical field, or other field for the betterment of mankind. Award: $750 for one year – Merit Based Parrish Family Scholarship The Parrish Family established this scholarship fund to support students with financial need wishing to continue their education after high school. Award: $1,000 for one year – Based on Need $$$ James E. Paulus Memorial Scholarship After a short battle with cancer, Jim Paulus passed away on April 11, 2012. This scholarship fund was established to continue his legacy of supporting education and giving back to the community. Jim was a special person who gave unselfishly to the community for many years through his leadership roles on many boards of area organizations. He was the Executive Director of the Butler County Alcoholism Council and the Director of Planning and Development for Fort Hamilton Hospital. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Butler County United Way and was on the board at the Fitton Center for the Creative Arts. His last service to our community was as Outreach Coordinator for Miami University Hamilton campus. Jim was a lifelong member of Saint Peter in Chains Catholic Church and served on the parish council for many years. He was an active member and past president of Hamilton Rotary Club. Jim served as a member for the Hamilton Community Foundation Scholarship Committee and on the board of the Emergency Money Fund and the Hamilton Vision Commission. He was past chairman of Hamilton Arts Feasibility Study, Hamilton Celebrates Education Committee, Hamilton Schools Business Advisory Council and Elementary School Site Selection and Redistricting Committee. His support of education will continue on through this scholarship fund that will provide merit based scholarships to graduating students from Hamilton High School or Badin High School. Award: $2,000 for one year – Merit Based Alberta Pratt Memorial Scholarship This scholarship fund was established by Miss Pratt with the hope of helping others who intend to enter a health-related profession. Miss Pratt was an Ohio University graduate with a nursing degree. She was employed in the Admitting Department of Mercy Hospital Hamilton for eight years. She started the Hamilton Blood Bank, which she operated for 14 years. In addition, Miss Pratt owned and operated the Hamilton Telephone Answering Service for 17 years. She passed away on June 19, 1993, at the age of 83. Award: $2,500 per year for four years - Based on Need $$$ Herbert T. Randall Memorial Scholarship This was the first scholarship fund established at the Hamilton Community Foundation. The fund offers scholarships to engineering majors attending the University of Cincinnati in the Cooperative Engineering Degree Program. Mr. Randall was the grandson of Peter G. Thompson, the Founder of Champion Papers. He was the Vice President of Research and Engineering at Champion International Paper until his retirement in 1959. After his retirement, he devoted himself to cancer research and travel. Mr. Randall was a former Trustee of the Foundation. He and his wife, Olive, shared many community interests and enjoyed traveling together until Mr. Randall’s death in 1986. Olive passed away September 6, 2010. Their daughters are Mary Belle Randall Rawlings and Catherine Randall Beaty. Reichel Scholarship This fund was established in memory of the Reichel family by Miss Thelma E. Reichel to provide a scholarship for a student with financial need. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reichel owned the Reichel Office Supply for 20 years. Mr. Reichel passed away in 1983 and his sister, Thelma, passed away in 1996. Mrs. Reichel died in 2006. Award: $2,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Frederick A. & Rosemary Reister Memorial Scholarship This fund was started by Rosemary Reister, family and friends, in memory of Fred. He was a Founder, former President (1957-58) and Trustee of the Foundation. Mr. Reister was an attorney with Millikin and Fitton Law Firm and he served on various boards and was a civic leader. This scholarship is for Hamilton and Badin High School students with financial need who are involved in extracurricular and community activities. Award: $2,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Jessie & Bessie Richter Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of two sisters, Bessie and Jessie Richter, who dedicated their lives to teaching the children of Hamilton in the elementary division of the Hamilton Public School System. The scholarship is made possible from the income of their modest estate, which they entrusted to the Hamilton Community Foundation for the further benefit of the community that they served so devotedly in life. This scholarship benefits students from Hamilton High School who major in elementary education. Award: $2,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ The Darrell Lee Robertson Memorial Scholarship This fund was created to perpetuate Darrell’s unfulfilled dreams and goals due to an untimely death, by offering a scholarship to students who attend Freedom Baptist Church. Darrell was a senior at Wright State University at the time of this death. His parents are Leslie and Frances Robertson. Award: Varies depending on amount generated and number of students applying from Freedom Baptist Church. Vernon & Louise Roden Memorial Scholarship This fund was established as a scholarship fund by Mrs. Roden in memory of her husband, Vernon. Dr. Roden was a medical doctor and Louise a retired school counselor. This scholarship is to benefit high school seniors planning to obtain a degree from a two-year technical school or a four-year accredited university. Criteria for selection are based on the student's ambition and motivation, as well as academic achievement and financial need. NOTE: Also, to be eligible for this scholarship, in addition to the general Foundation scholarship essay, you must also include in your essay information describing a hardship that you were able to overcome. Award: $2,000 per year for four years – Based on Need $$ Katherine Rumph Scholarship This fund was created in 1993 as a scholarship fund by Mrs. Rumph, a member of the Mt. Zion Temple Church and a volunteer tutor. Her children are Christine Moore (deceased), Denise Rumph-Johnson and La-juanna Walker. This scholarship is based on financial need, with preference given to a minority student from either Hamilton High or Badin High School. Award: $500 for one year – Based on Need $$ Madge Shaper Schaeuble Memorial Scholarship This fund was established from the estate of Mrs. Schaeuble as a scholarship for students majoring in mathematics or related fields (not pre-med). Mrs. Schaeuble taught math and physics in Hamilton schools from 1929 to 1978. She was also a talented violinist, pianist, organist and vocalist. Mrs. Schaeuble was active in many organizations. She died on July 26, 1993, at the age of 84. Award: $3,000 per year for four years - Based on Need $$$ Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2014 Page 15 Donald & Millicent Schirmer Scholarship This fund was established by Mr. and Mrs. Schirmer to support educational opportunities for young people attending Miami University. In addition to many other community involvements, Donald Schirmer was the former President and partner of the Permanent Savings and Loan and President of the Butler County Commissioners for 12 years. He and his wife of 50 years, Millicent, are the parents of three children, Donna S. Seidel, Sue S. Albrecht and Dave H. Schirmer. Mr. Schirmer passed away on November 23, 1996. Mrs. Schirmer passed away March 27, 2008. Award: $2,000 per year for four years – Merit based Dr. Karl J. Schmitter Memorial Scholarship This fund was created at the death of Dr. Karl J. Schmitter, by his parents, Dr. Karl L. and Mary Alice Schmitter, to provide a scholarship for a high school senior planning to major in either physical therapy or occupational therapy. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Ferdinand Schwenn & Margaret K. Turnbull Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by Margaret Turnbull, granddaughter of Mr. Schwenn. Ferdinand Schwenn was the founder of the Robinson Schwenn Department Store, which was located on High Street for many years. Scott, Sr. Memorial Scholarship This fund, which honors the memory of James I. Scott, father of Dr. James I. Scott, Jr., of Hamilton, offers a scholarship for seniors at Hamilton High and Badin High Schools. Mr. Scott was an executive officer for the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company for 40 years and had been very active in state and national insurance affairs. Mr. Scott, a Navy veteran of World War I, was a member of the Front Street Presbyterian Church. Award: $750 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Gladys Sepin Memorial Scholarship This fund was established from the estate of Gladys Sepin to be used for a scholarship for a student attending Miami University. Ms. Sepin was Director of the Lane Public Library for 30 years. Award: $2,000 per year for four years - Based on Need $$ John A. Shafer Nursing Memorial Scholarship This fund honors Mr. Shafer’s lifelong commitment to helping students reach their educational goals by offering a scholarship to a young man or woman who wants to pursue a career in nursing. Mr. Shafer was the former President and owner of Shafer Implement Company. His family is most proud of his dedication to helping students through scholarships he set up through the Miami University Fund and the Hamilton Community Foundation. Award: $2,500 per year for four years - Based on Need $$$ Kwasi Sherman Memorial Scholarship This scholarship fund was established in memory of Kwasi Sherman by friends. Kwasi tragically passed away at age 17, after a valiant fight with leukemia. People of all backgrounds were attracted to him because of his personality and tremendous character. He was a Division 1 prospect for college recruiters in basketball and was known for putting his team first. This scholarship is for a Hamilton High School student who plans to attend a four-year or junior college and who has shown the ability to overcome adversity. Preference: A student who has overcome adversity and portrays a positive image throughout the school. NOTE: Additional essay required to explain how you have overcome adversity. Award: $1,000 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Donald Shilt Memorial Scholarship Established in 1995 by Southwestern Ohio Steel, now MISA Metals, Inc., in memory of their employee Donald Shilt, this scholarship supports students wishing to further their education after high school. Sippel in 1994 and provides a scholarship for area students. Mr. Sippel, a retired accountant with General Electric, was active with the Optimist International Foundation and the Evening Optimist Club of Hamilton. The Smittle’s were dedicated teachers and were active in many community projects. This scholarship was created to help well-rounded students from Hamilton and Badin High Schools and focuses on academic achievement, activities and employment. Mr. and Mrs. Smittle are the parents of two children, Jill Waldon and Todd Smittle. Mr. Smittle passed away on July 5, 2002, and Mrs. Smittle passed away on August 24, 2002. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Sam F. Spoerl Jr. Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by Sam’s widow, Mary Conroy Spoerl, to leave a lasting memorial to Sam and his commitment to the work of the YMCA. This scholarship rewards young men and women who contribute volunteer time to the YMCA. Mr. Spoerl was a prominent Hamilton attorney who served 25 years as a Director of the YMCA. He served on numerous other boards, committees and professional organizations and was a Deacon of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He and his wife have two children, Tricia S. Murphy and Timothy S. Spoerl. Award: $1,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Melissa Sprague Memorial Scholarship This fund, in memory of former Garfield Junior High School science teacher Melissa Sprague, was established to perpetuate her dedication to teaching and coaching by offering a scholarship to a female graduate of Hamilton High School who is planning on entering the field of education. Melissa, who died at the age of 36 after a long battle with cancer, was active in her church, Freedom Baptist. Melissa and her husband, Laurin, are the parents of two boys, Hunter Sprague (deceased) and Alexander Chase Sprague. Award: $500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Willam E. & June Steed Scholarship The fund was created by Dr. Thomas Stuckey of Greensboro, North Carolina, to provide scholarship money for financially needy students who plan to matriculate at an area college in the field of health care. Many years ago, Dr. Stuckey was blessed to be provided with an academic scholarship that was endowed by a local resident. His goal in creating this scholarship was to give someone else the same chance that he had to realize his dreams. The name for the fund is to honor five important women in his life—Marion Hilker, who endowed the Murphy Wing at Westover; her daughter, Clare Hilker Stuckey, his stepmother; Anna Louise Weiland Stuckey and Kathryn Weiland, his deceased mother and aunt; and his cousin June Weiland Steed; all of whom have made substantial contributions to the welfare of the Hamilton community. Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund This fund was originally started by Mrs. Carolyn Stewart in memory of her husband, Wilson, and their son, Rand. Shortly after establishing this fund, Mrs. Stewart also passed away. The fund is to provide scholarships to graduates of Hamilton High School, with preference given to students attending Miami University. Mrs. Stewart was a graduate of Hamilton High School and received her master's degree in education from Miami University. She was a substitute teacher for many years before retiring as a sixth-grade teacher in New Miami School District. She passed away on January 31, 2001, at the age of 67. Mr. Wilson "Stew" Stewart, Carolyn's husband, was a retired teacher and administrator in the Hamilton and Fairfield schools. He was the principal at Hamilton Taft High School from 1966 through 1972. Mr. Stewart completed his educational career as a teacher in the Fairfield City School district until his retirement in June 1986. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1999, at the age of 67. A son, Rand L. Stewart, also preceded them in death in 1970. Award: $1,500 for one year– Based on Need $$$ David L. Stitsinger Memorial Merit Scholarship This scholarship fund was established in memory of Mr. Stitsinger to support students pursuing a career in education. He was a graduate of Taft High School and received a B.S. in education from The Ohio State University. He received his master’s degree in education administration from Miami University. He was employed by Home Federal Savings and Loan for 18 years, where he had been named Interim CEO. He had been involved with many organizations in the community throughout his lifetime. He and his wife, Judy, have three children, Steven, Stacey and Kari. Mr. Stitsinger passed away on June 15, 1991, at the age of 47. Award: $1,000 for one year – Merit Based Georgina Thompson Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by Mrs. Thompson as a scholarship fund for a female student seeking a business career. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed a long career with the Leshner Corporation. Award: $2,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Susan C Thum Memorial Scholarship This scholarship fund was established through the estate of Miss Susan Thum, in memory of her parents. Miss Thum was a teacher in the Mt. Healthy Schools. This scholarship is for a student majoring in education. Award: $2,000 per year for four years - Based on Need $$$ US Bank/Fillmore School Scholarship This scholarship fund is designated for a senior who has graduated from Fillmore Elementary School, which is US Bank’s “Adopt-A-School” partner. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ J. Walter and Edna T. Wack Memorial Scholarship This scholarship fund was established by Edna Wack. Mr. J. Walter Wack was a leading merchant and longtime civic leader in Hamilton. He and Mrs. Wack were extremely active in the Zion Lutheran Church and the scholarship is given each year to a member of this Church. Award: $1,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ John and Clara Wallace Memorial Scholarship This fund was established from the estate of Mrs. Clara Wallace to provide scholarships to deserving students in need of financial assistance. 1. Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2013 Page 18 Award: $2,500 per year for four years – Based on Need $$$ Athalene and Buddy Wallin Scholarship This scholarship fund was established by the Wallins’ to support students at Hamilton & Fairfield High School pursuing a college education. After receiving their education from Eastern Kentucky University, the Wallins’ came to Fairfield in 1958 and secured teaching positions in the Hamilton City Schools. Athalene began teaching at Buchanan and Coolidge and went on to George Washington Junior High until her retirement in 1986. Buddy began his teaching career at Jefferson Elementary and went on to teach physical education at Fairfield High School until his retirement in 1982. Buddy and Athalene both attribute their success to their education. They want to support students who value their education, have set goals and are willing to work hard to achieve success. A 3.0 GPA is required for this award. Award: $2,500 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Valeta Z Welborn Memorial Scholarship This scholarship fund was established in 1998 by Dorothea Zellner, in memory of her sister, Edith Valeta Zellner Welborn, for a student from Hamilton High or Badin High Schools attending Miami University and majoring in nursing. Mrs. Welborn was active in the Hamilton Garden Club and Eastern Star. Dorthea Zellner passed away April 12, 2013. Award: $500 for one year –Merit Based Francis and Mabel Wilks Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by the Wilks family in memory of their parents and is to be used for a scholarship for a student planning to go into social work. They are the parents of four children, Harry T. Wilks, William C. Wilks, Marge Handel and Francis Wilks (deceased). Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Patricia A. Wilks Memorial Scholarship This fund was established by friends and family of Patricia A. Wilks to be used to provide a scholarship for a student residing in the city of Hamilton. Patricia graduated from Hamilton High School and attended Miami University where she graduated with an associate’s degree. She worked with her husband, William C. Wilks, in their insurance business and was a substitute teacher with the Hamilton City Schools. She was active in many organizations in the community. The couple had two children, Tari Ann Wilks and Craig Francis Wilks. She passed away at age 56. Award: $1,000 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Geraldine Willis Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in memory of Geraldine Willis to support a scholarship for Hamilton High School student majoring in education at Miami University. Mrs. Willis was a kindergarten, first and third grade teacher. She began her teaching career at Holy Cross Lutheran, Polk Elementary and Fillmore Elementary where she retired. She was married to Richard T. Willis, who preceded her in death in 1990. The Willis’ have two children Andy Willis and Linda Willis and two grandchildren Richard and Kathryn Willis. Award: $500 for one year – Based on Need $$$ Frank D. Witt Memorial Scholarship This fund was established to honor the memory of the former Mayor of Hamilton by offering a scholarship to a student planning to attend Miami University Hamilton. Frank believed in Hamilton and worked to help make our community a better place to live and work. He was a strong advocate for education and served on the first advisory board at Miami University Hamilton. He and his wife, Joan, are the parents of Amy Jo Witt Younts and Margaret Elizabeth Witt. Award: $1,500 for one year - Based on Need $$$ Jean and William Wolf Memorial Scholarship This fund was established in memory of Jean & William Wolf to provide scholarships for students at Hamilton and Badin High Schools. Mr. Wolf was a lifelong resident of Hamilton and co-founder with Walter Rentschler of Southwestern Ohio Steel Company in 1945. Mr. Wolf worked in the business for more than 40 years. He was co-founder of Family Services of Butler County and the Hamilton Community Foundation where he also served as Trustee. The Wolf’s were married 1. Hamilton Community Foundation – Hamilton High School 2013 Page 19 for 66 years and had two daughters and one son. Mr. Wolf passed away December 23, 1996 and Mrs. Wolf passed away March 14, 2008.
