Holmen Secondary ELA Curriculum Work

The first paragraph on our Instructional Services website states:
A well-aligned PreK-12 curriculum combined with excellent instruction and appropriate student support is the key to student
achievement and learning. Curriculum and assessments are monitored and adjusted as needs change and times change. You
will see a schedule for curriculum revision and the curriculum development process.
To inform our parents on our curriculum so they can work in partnership for student success we post our curriculum documents
online. Over the past few years we have had release time to begin the work of implementing the CCSS and creating curriculum
documents (scope and sequence along with common formative and summative assessments). As the Instructional Services
team began the work of pulling your work into one document, we noticed the some items are not currently on file.
Please see the next few pages and review the status of your grade level’s ELA work. Most of the work is minor adjustments to
the Standards Continuum (scope and sequence document), the Understanding by Design (UbD) template for the unit, and just
sending us electronic files of formative and summative assessments/answer keys.
I can join you during your Monthly HMS/HHS English Language Arts meetings during the spring semester to help you submit
the missing pieces if that is helpful to you. Some of this work may require your PLC to work on as well. Please let me know
