Theatre of Dreams Written by James Yielder an assistant Youth Worker & former Ambassadors Intern. This weekend Leicester City looks to secure their first Premier League Title by getting a win at Old Trafford (‘The Theatre of Dreams’) Do you think Leicester will get the win they require? Is this the greatest underdog story in sport? What others can you think of? How do you think both Leicester and Tottenham will do next season? At the start of the season the thought of winning the Premier League with two games to spare would have seemed a crazy dream even to the most hardcore of Leicester fans. But their dream could be about to become a reality. What are some of your dreams (relating to sport, life, work etc.)? People are continually being told to ‘follow their dreams’ and that ‘anything is possible’ but sometimes our lives do not match up with the dream we had of what we would be doing when we were younger. When you were a kid what job did you dream of having when you grew up? Are you doing it now? These dreams are different to a type of dream that is referred to in the Bible. God uses dreams to speak to people in the Bible. What the people dreaming saw was not always literally what is going to happen but it could when interpreted it could represent something that is about to happen. Sometimes the dreams would be quite complicated and Kings and Rulers could not understand them. A great example of this is a guy called Joseph, who found himself in a sort of prison in Egypt. One night whilst he was in prison the Pharaoh had a dream. Pharaoh did not understand this dream and nor could any of the wisest people the Pharaoh summoned. Eventually word got to Pharaoh that there was this guy called Joseph in the prison who claimed he could interpret the dream. So the Pharaoh summoned Joseph and Joseph told the Pharaoh what the dream meant explaining how it was referring to the years of famine that were for approaching for the Land of Egypt. How do you think Joseph was able to interpret the dream for Pharaoh? Joseph had a strong relationship with God and it was God that revealed the meaning of the dream to him so that Joseph could tell Pharaoh, and this was the beginning of a journey which saw Joseph rise up from the prison and becoming governor over Egypt.
