Info sheet -TANDJE BEACH RESORT CHALETS (rev.08.12.14)
Check In: Guests are required to produce their confirmation vouchers when checking in. Should
you not have them you will be required to pay for your stay then, and claim back the money
from your booking agent on your return.
NB: GUESTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY AN R 100.00 KEY DEPOSIT ON CHECKING IN. THIS WILL BE
REFUNDED WHEN RETURNED ON CHECK OUT. IF YOU INTEND CHECKING OUT BEFORE 07.00
PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH RECEPTION THE NIGHT BEFORE.
All Chalets are situated virtually on the main Ponta do Ouro Swimming Beach.
Please Note: All Chalets are Self Catering and all are very basic, particularly the 2 sleeper units.
Guests are advised to be as self sufficient as possible. With the exception of the two 6 sleeper
units (L1&L2) none of the units have fridges or freezers, and only basic crockery & cutlery is
supplied (except for 2 sleeper units which do not have any). Basic gas hotplates are supplied to
every unit. See below for full details of each type of unit. There are no Mosquito nets, but hooks
are provided if you bring your own net. Every unit has 1 off 15A 3 pin SA type plug point.
WATER AVAILABLE IN THE CAMPSITE IS BOREHOLE WATER & NOT SUITABLE FOR DRINKING.
Please take an adequate supply. Drinking Water can be bought in Ponta, at any shops, or at the
Scuba Adventures Dive Camp at the Entrance.
Absolute essentials for all chalets: A Skottel and / or portable braai – to braai or have you
breakfast virtually on the beach! - Mosquito Nets (hooks are provided,) towels, Mozzie spray and
Sun Tan lotion. Don’t forget Braai Tongs, Corkscrew & Can opener
It is recommended you take along beach umbrellas, or better still, a folding Gazebo, not only for
the beach, but to sit outside your unit as well
The Scuba Adventures Dive Camp, situated at the entrance of the resort complex (on the left hand side)
has a restaurant where affordable meals can be taken. They also sell Charcoal, Ice, & drinking water
(bottled, or if you take your own bottle, you can refill purified drinking water from a dispensing machine –
a far cheaper option) Basics like Sun Tan Lotion, Mosquito Repellant, Toiletries & T-Shirts are also
available)
Towels & Soap are not supplied to any units
2 SLEEPER CHALETS:
LAYOUT: Very Basic – essentially a room with 2 beds. There are 12 X 2 bed chalets, consisting of basically a
room with 2 single beds. There is an adjacent kitchenette equipped with a wash basin and sink. THERE ARE
NO COOKING FACILITIES OR FRIDGE FACILITIES. WE SUGGEST YOU BRING YOUR OWN CADAC TYPE GAS
COOKER / SKOTTEL. The chalet does have lights, and 1 plug point. Bedding is supplied
Please note there is NO fridge in the chalet, and no cutlery or crockery is supplied.
There are no tables or chairs, so please bring with camping tables, and fold up camping chairs.
TAKE WITH: Pots, frying pan, kettle for hotplate. All crockery & cutlery (knives, forks, spoons), breadknives,
cutting board, glasses, etc, A cooler box for your meat, (a well equipped picnic basket will be a win) a braai
or Skottel. Braai Tongs, Corkscrew & Can opener. Dish clothes, & dishwashing liquid. Bring Bathroom towels,
Beach Towels, Suntan Lotion, and Mozzie Spray
SUGESTION: Bring your own Skottel – you can grill breakfast outside, or braai, almost directly on the
beach!! A beach umbrella will also come in handy if you want to sit outside your unit and admire the
view. It can be extremely hot in the day, and there is no verandah for protection
It is also advisable to pre vacuum pack and freeze your meat if you are staying for a long period of time.
There are no mosquito nets in the chalets you may want to take 1 or 2 with you. Hooks are provided.
ABLUTIONS: The 2 bed chalets do not have en suit bathrooms and make use of two small shared cold water
ablutions nearby or alternatively the adjacent campsite ablutions. There is hot water showers in the
campsite ablutions
4 SLEEPER CHALETS
LAYOUT:
The 4 Sleeper units are essentially a Living area, with Kitchenette, and adjoining bathroom and shower /
toilet.
SEAFACING Units: 7 (No’s 1 – 7) units which have a sliding door that leads onto a patio virtually directly on
the beach
ROADFACING UNITS: 4 (No’s 8 – 11) units also are situated on the beach, adjacent to the Seafacing units,
but with no beach patio, or door opening direct onto the beach. The Verandah is on opposite side of unit
facing the road. To access the beach you only have to walk around the side of the unit.
All 4 sleepers are equipped as follows; a bedroom with 2 single beds & a living area with 2 single beds All
have bedding. There is also a small kitchenette and sink. THERE ARE NO COOKING FACILITIES OR FRIDGE
FACILITIES. WE SUGGEST YOU BRING YOUR OWN CADAC TYPE GAS COOKER / SKOTEL. There is no crockery
or cutlery. THERE ARE NO COOKING FACILITIES OR FRIDGE FACILITIES. WE SUGGEST YOU BRING YOUR OWN
CADAC TYPE GAS COOKER / SKOTEL. Towels are also not supplied.

6 SLEEPER CHALETS
There are only two 6 sleeper chalets which are both situated on the beach in Ponta do Ouro.
LAYOUT: 6 sleeper chalets both consist of 2 bedrooms, 1 with a Double Bed, and 1 with 2 single beds. There
are 2 single beds in the living area. Bedding is supplied
An open plan kitchen with a counter and seating a gas cooker and stove, a fridge / freezer, basic crockery
and cutlery and a wash up basin.
The chalets do have lights and one plug point in the kitchen.
A double door leads onto the patio from the lounge area and is sea facing. There are chairs and a table but
no braai area. It is advisable to bring your own fold up camp table, and fold up camp chairs, not only to be
comfortable on the beach, but also for your verandah. An Umbrella, or better, a fold up Gazebo is also
useful; - It can be extremely hot in the day.
