Eating Carbs
Boosts Your Mood ~ Researchers have
found that eating carbs increases your
serotonin levels--the "feel good" brain
chemical.
Helps Prevent Weight Gain
~ By consuming carbs, you are helping your
body stay fuller longer, therefore preventing
overeating throughout the day. Healthy (complex) carbs also contain dietary fiber,
which helps with digestion and satisfies cravings.
Carbs Are Good For Your Heart ~ Low carb diets that are rich in insoluble fiber
can help lower your LDL "bad" cholesterol and increase HDL "good" cholesterol.
Foods like brown rice, whole wheat bread, and quinoa are great complex carb
choices.
Carbs Help Blast Fat ~ Starting your day off right with a breakfast that contains
"slow-release" carbohydrates such as oatmeal or bran cereal will help boost your
metabolism and prevent a spike in your insulin levels. Spikes in insulin triggers the
body to store fat, therefore by slowing down the release of insulin our body will then
use this as a source of energy.
Is Chocolate Healthy?
You may have been hearing a lot about the
benefits of chocolate in your diet. Antioxidants
found in cocoa beans, also known as
flavonols, help lower blood pressure and keep
arteries clear. They also may reduce the risk
of diabetes in some. This, of course, doesn't
mean we can go crazy in the candy bar aisle.
There are a few rules to follow when you get
the craving for something sweet. Less
processed chocolate contains more flavonols
than lighter, more processed variety. There's
no exact percentage, but in general, the higher

the percentage of cocoa, the higher the
antioxidants. Just remember, no matter how dark and healthy the chocolate is that
you choose, you still need to keep portion control in mind. Keep portion to 1 to 1.5oz

Ingredients
* 1 container vanilla yogurt (use Greek yogurt
because it's thicker)
* Fresh ripe strawberries
Directions
1. Slice strawberries in half. Spoon Greek
yogurt onto a shallow dish and dip the
strawberries in the yogurt. Place dipped
strawberries in a plastic container lined with
parchment paper and freeze.

something that will shrink your waistline
instead of expand it. There's nothing sexier
than getting sweaty with your significant other.
