Monday, July 2, 2012 Volume 1, Issue 4 Goode on Illegal immigration… Both President Obama and Governor Romney have no solution to illegal immigration. In fact the policies of both will encourage the continuation of the illegal invasion into our country. Obama’s temporary amnesty and work permits for illegals and Romney’s statement that “the status of young people... should be solved on a long-term basis so they know what their future would be in this country” will lead more of those waiting at the border to enter in expectation of a future amnesty. Amnesty in any form only encourages more illegal entry into the United States.” A way to reduce unemployment, reduce the deficit, and provide more jobs for U.S. citizens is to end illegal immigration and reduce legal immigration. In recent years about 1.2 million green cards have been issued annually and over 60% go to foreigners who come to the United States and take jobs from American citizens. I have proposed a moratorium (with a few minor exceptions) on issuing green cards until our unemployment rate is under 5 percent. America has one of the most liberal immigration policies in the world and it is time for the citizens of this country to be at the head of the line for jobs. We also need to totally end diversity visas (50,000 per year), reduce chain migration, and dramatically reduce asylees and refugees and their costs to the U.S. taxpayer. Independence day… During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence declaring the United States independent from Great Britain. After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision. Congress debated and revised the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4. On Saturday June 23rd in Verona New York, the Constitution Party had a State meeting. Congressman Goode and Jim Clymer were at the event and were photographed with the Central New York contingent. A few months ago, Goode and Clymer visited Constitution Party members and others in New York City and spoke at a dinner meeting in the city. A day later, John Adams had written to his wife Abigail: The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more. Adams's prediction was off by two days. From the outset, Americans celebrated independence on July 4, the date shown on the much-publicized Declaration of Independence, rather than on July 2, the date the resolution of independence was approved in a closed session of Congress. Box 1782 Lancaster, PA 17608 Newsletter by AQDesigns From the Chairman… Upon becoming the national chairman of the Constitution Party, one of my most immediate goals has been to place the national party on a sound financial footing. The key to accomplishing that is to secure a steady monthly flow of income from dedicated party members from all 50 states. With that in mind I began contacting all of the regional and state chairmen and asked them to contact people in their various regions and states and to ask them to commit to donate what they felt they could each month from May until December to the party. I explained that this would of necessity need to be a consistent ongoing effort for this to be successful To functionally operate at the national level, we need a steady monthly cash flow of $15,000.00. The national party has cut their expenses to a bare minimum and we will continue to do so. The major expenses include office rent, two national staff salaries, utilities and phone expenses. The first request for the monthly pledge went out in May. Below is the number of pledges from states that have responded thus far and the total dollar amount pledged from each state. Alaska: one pledge for $100.00 Illinois: one pledge for $50.00 Missouri: three pledges for $265.00 Montana: one pledge for $100.00 Podcasts with Castle… Three times each week, 2008 Vice-Presidential nominee for the Constitution Party, Darrell Castle, shares with listeners a variety of topics covering international and national political news. Podcasts are archived and can be found by visiting www.constitutionpartyoftenn essee.com/blog Recent podcasts include: The G-20 Summit The Farm Bill Victims of Afghanistan The Federal Reserve Syrian Civil War Obama’s Death Czar and more Nevada: four pledges for $19.00 Utah: 15 pledges for 702.00 Wyoming: three pledges for $90.00 Total: 28 pledges for $1326.00 The average donation of the 28 pledged donations received thus far is over $47.00 so I feel that reaching the $15,000.00 goal each month is very doable. Any who donate at least $5.00 a month will be counted as a member of the “$15K Team”. If your state is not yet represented above, I would encourage you to be the first to lead out in your state. You can send the donation directly to your state chairman for him to forward your donation to national or you can click on the following link to the national party: www.constitutionparty.com. In each case be sure that you designate those funds to go toward your state’s national annual assessment. My goal is to reach at least 1000 people who will commit on a monthly basis. We have eliminated sending out hard copies of the newsletter, but instead have implemented sending out a bi-monthly internet newsletter that is only two pages and that is designed to be forwarded on to friends and family. This has resulted in a few additional donations coming in from new contacts for which I am grateful. In time the newsletter should become a source of steady income to the party, but that will happen only as we expand readership base significantly.
