director of this program, I ensure quality through consultation with our hotel partners by drawing from my background;
thus understanding preconceptions and expectations of both Western trainees and Chinese hotel clients, ensuring specific
standards are met, and by overall maximizing both parties’ experiences. Will you take this exciting opportunity to

Chinese Hospitality Program
Travel, Work, and Live in China! A Once in a Lifetime Opportunity
 Placement: Program participants are placed in 5 star hotels and work as a team with 4-8 other international interns.
This gives an ample opportunity to make friends to explore China with. All internship participants are fully cared for with
free accommodation, meals, and a stipend provided by the hotel.
 Selection: YCC recruiting consultants manage and are fully responsible for the interviewing, selecting, and placing of
interns on behalf of the hotel. Since our hotel clients entrust us with integrity and quality, we rigorously work to invite the
best candidates to represent both our program and the university whom partners with us.
 Fees: Students pay absolutely no fees for our services. Other agencies charge internship candidates high sums of
money before they undertake an internship program. Instead, hotels hire us to recruit on their behalf.
 Locations: Throughout Mainland China, first tier (Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou), second tier (Nanjing, Tianjin, Xian,
Chengdu) and third tier cities. The famous resort of Sanya, located on Hainan Island is our most-sought destination.
 Duration: 3-6 months, please apply at least 2 months ahead of potential arriving date.

YCC Consulting actively recruits international trainees on behalf of numerous luxury hotels across China.
This internship will gain you hands-on experience in a prestigious 5-star hotel which may lead to a promising
career in hospitality. YCC is partnered with more than 100 five-star hotels such as Hilton Worldwide,
Intercontinental Group, Marriot International, Great Wall, among other reputable Chinese hotel families.
Additionally, this job offers an excellent opportunity to learn and improve one’s Chinese, and to travel to the

About the Traineeship
Hospitality Trainee placement in (2) positions: Guest Services or Food & Beverage
A- Guest Relations Officer, B- Food & Beverage Service Agent
Description: Our hotels seek hospitable people to work at the forefront of their customer service for both
Chinese from all over China and foreigners from all over the world. This simple job guarantees a steady income,
accommodation and a meal plan, proving that with this luxury hotel, care and excellent service is provided not
only to their guests, but their valued employees as well. Additionally, this job offers an excellent opportunity to
learn and improve one’s Chinese, and to travel to the numerous nearby tourist and ancient sites.
Responsibilities
1. Provide prompt, courteous and efficient customer service in either department.
2. Welcome all guests and verify reservations with VIP’s and standard guests.
3. Handle associated clerical duties such as updating guest information in the computer, making
reservations and copying registry documents.
4. Work as a team with other staff members in managing customer satisfaction.
5. Offer reasonable solutions to customer complaints.
6.
Other tasks given by department or General Manager.
Living Benefits: Individual rooming, access to swimming pool and other hotel amenities.
Additional Information:
1. Language Lessons: Free tutoring depending on hotel.

3. Salary: 2-3,000 RMB+ per month after 2 months.

The best thing to do is to make the most of the culture. Try new food, new traditions and learn the language.
Together we travelled to the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace and many hutong
alleyways. All of these places were amazing! I feel that the Nangong Hotel was great: awesome staff, food, and
we were catered very well. If there is anything that is not enjoyable (i.e., food) let someone know so they can help.
Otherwise, just have fun and make the most out of every experience. Thank you, Jon, for your support over this
time. We had a great trip over here in China.

China! What a country. 6 weeks ago I arrived in Beijing feeling like a fish out of water. In this short while I learnt
life lessons no book, website, or lecturer could teach. I have lived within the Nangong community and fully felt the
Chinese culture (more than a tourist), the good and the bad. I have seen some incredible places and made lifelong
friends. Coming into this you need to be very open-minded. If you can do that then I swear you’ll be mind-blown
like me. Beijing is stunning and has a special spark about it that will stay with me forever.
Thank you heaps for everything! This was such as awesome experience and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Nangong is such a special place and all their staff is wonderful and like a big family. Carol, our manager, is a
superstar! Honestly she has been our rock and dealt with everything so well and shown us Beijing in a nutshell 
we’ve had many laughs together and I’m sad to say goodbye.

It was definitely not what I was expecting but if you just go with the flow it’s fine. Because the hotel was quite
quiet we were able to use our downtime to interact with the staff and learn some basic Chinese. Some of the girls
from the front desk came with us to the Forbidden City and Summer Palace so we wouldn’t get lost. It was really
good to be able to interact with them outside the work environment. Being a tourism student back home, I was
able to see the differences between the NZ & Chinese hotel systems. Thanks Jon for the awesome opportunityalso thanks for recommending Sanlitun, we had a great time there!
