To try is to risk failure. But risks must be taken because the greatest risk of all is to risk nothing" Reminder: 2012 dues are overdue!! Reminders Master Mason Outdoor Degree August 24, 2012 Dues are overdue for 2012 Once again York Lodge has raised a new Master Mason at Oxbow camp, our unofficial northern annex. Many thanks to RW Randy Burliegh for hosting this great event. Please Brothers attend to this. Ads and Remembrance’s are also expiring and need to be renewed. I know the picture is small but if you look closely you will see at least two Past Grand Masters and the current Grand Master of Masons in Maine, Most Worshipful James Ross. Remember these appear in the Trestleboard, Newsletter and on our Web site which is a great deal of exposure for a $100 donation. For more information contact Bro. Chuck Morin. Not to forget the subject of the gathering of this august group, Brother Owen Brown our newest Master Mason The Master’s Corner Greeting from the East. I am writing this on the 16th of August and thinking of our brothers. My heart and I imagine yours too, goes out to our Brother Mike Remillard for his lost. I have had little experience with Mike outside of the lodge hall but I admire the grace he and his family have shown during this most difficult time. The brothers who reach out to Mike are also in my thoughts. I am proud of you all. We will be coming out of darkness on the second Monday of September and I am asking you to look at the calendar Randy has posted in this Trestleboard to confirm the date of our Stated Meeting, September 10th and to also think about the other events we have scheduled for the rest of the year. We have Past Masters Night, also in September, which will cause us to reunite with some of the brothers we haven’t seen in a while and which will bring a warmth to our lodge, as well as to the lodge hall, that these special nights generate. It is always special to reconnect and reminisce about things we have done together and about those who are not there to share in the conversation. I hope you will come and share your presence with us. Supper will be at 6:00 and the gavel will sound at 7:00 for the work of the evening. In October we will present the Masonic Service Awards at the Stated Meeting. We are also inviting all of the families with multiple generations or brothers of the same generation to attend so we can capture them in a picture after introducing them. As an example, Freeman (Zip) Welch has made plans for his sons to all be in town so they can attend. I am planning to ask my brother who belongs to Arundel Lodge to attend with me. I am asking you to also gather your family so you can attend too. Another opportunity to create more future th memories, November 11 is Veteran’s Day and falls on a Sunday this year. I have invited the Grand Master to join a procession of York Lodge members as we march to the grave of our brother, Harold A. Webber, who died serving our country. The lodge bought a service star when he entered the Army for the First World War, together with three others for other brothers who were also entering the service, and are on displayed in our lodge hall. I am asking all of our brothers who are veterans to join us. I am going to reach out to the American Legion Post in Kennebunk to see they want to participate also. They named their Post, Webber-Lefebvre Post 74, after Bro. Webber and another resident of Kennebunk. Let us never forget and always honor the sacrifice made for us. So, my brothers, let’s get together and share our time with each other. We don’t have much of this Masonic year left. Take care , W. Brian Ingalls
