Dear Parents / Caregivers,
What a great day we had on Saturday.
The Family Fun Day was blessed with great weather, and a good turnout
followed.
Lots of fun, lots of different experiences ……………. all in all, a really enjoyable
day.
Thank you to our families for supporting this event.
Thank you to the SES and Everglade School Staff members for organising, and
running the day.
And it’s not over yet!
The raffles will run until 21 March. $2 per ticket.

These are always superb, and make the Cake Stall a real hit!
Badge Competition
Nearly 200 people made a badge as part of the Family Fun Day.
Yesterday we held a Badge Competition among our pupils.

Why is there a leap year?
Every four years there is an extra day called a leap year. There is an extra day because the earth takes 365.25 days for
the Earth to orbit the sun.
If you are born on February 29 you may celebrate your birthday on February 28th or March 1st if it was not a leap year.
Even if you think calendars are right there not. Man has not yet created the perfect calendar to align with the Earth’s

What is a leap year?
A leap year happens every four years on February 29th. There are 365 days and our calendar year. However it takes
365.25 days for the Earth to orbit the Sun.
We have to add an extra day to catch up with The Earth's orbit around the sun. If we didn't have an extra day our
seasons would become reversed eventually.
