Sample works cited page on Steroids: Explanation
Works Cited
Be sure that you title the page as Works (don’t forget the “s”) Cited. Center the title. Do not
give the information that is in bold. That is for your information. Be sure to put your
citations in alphabetical order by author or title if no author is given. Lines should be
double-spaced.
Basic Book:
Adams, Jacqueline. Steroids. Detroit : Lucent Books, 2006. Print.
Author’s last name, first name. Book title capitalized and in italics. Place of publication:
Publisher, date. Format. Find the publishing information on the verso ie. the back of the
title page. Be sure to indent second and subsequent lines.
Database article (no author)
"Bats; Canseco defends Clemens in front of grand jury." The New York Times.

June 2010.
If an article has no title, put the title first. Put title in quotation marks. Put a period before the
closing quotation marks followed by the original source of the information along with
the original date and original page number if available. Give name of Database. Format.
Date accessed.
Book with editor (citing entire book):

2004. Print.
Editor’s last name, first name, ed. Title of book. Capitalize the first and important words (ie.
not “and”, “for” or “of”). Put title in italics. Place of publication: Publisher, date.
