HOUSE AND GROUNDS RULES
As of November, 2014
The House and Grounds Rules are
policies established by the Board of
Directors to guide members’ use of Club
facilities and to ensure everyone’s full
enjoyment. Members, children, and guests
are expected to comply.
USE OF THE PREMISES
Only authorized members, their guests and other
registered participants are permitted on the golf course or
Club property. Members are responsible for the conduct
of their guests and family members. Juniors 14 years and
older are responsible for compliance as adults and may
use Club facilities and services. Unaccompanied children
under age 14 are not permitted on Club property unless
using the swimming facility or playing golf or tennis.
Motorized vehicles other than maintenance equipment,
battery-powered carts and electric golf carts are strictly
prohibited. Hand carts and electric golf carts must be
used in accordance with the specific instructions
established and described later in these rules. All other
forms of traffic, including skateboards and rollerblades
are not permitted. Unless playing golf, walking on the
golf course and golf paths is prohibited. Bicycles may be
ridden on the entrance drive and through the parking lot.
Bicycles elsewhere on the golf course are discouraged,
but permitted if the bicycle is walked. Pets are not
allowed anywhere on Club property. Smoking is
prohibited in all interior areas of the clubhouse and
Stingray’s Poolside Grill. Smoking is also prohibited
inside the pool gates.
Electronic Devices
The use of cell phones, beepers and other electronic
devices on Club property is discouraged. All devices
should be kept on “vibrate” or “silent mode”.
DINING FACILITIES
The Dining Room
The dining room is open year round except for brief
seasonal closings. The dining room is open Tuesday
through Saturday, except for some holidays and
occasional events approved by the board. Operating
hours vary throughout the year. Reservations are
recommended but not required. There is a 24-hour
cancellation policy for all club parties. Cut-off shorts,

The 19th Hole is open Tuesday through Saturday, with
limited hours on Sunday. Hours vary during the year.
Outdoor seating is available on the patio as weather
allows. Swim attire is not permitted on the patio.
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an
adult member. On Wednesday evenings during the golf
season, children are not permitted in the 19th Hole after
7:00pm. Tasteful casual attire is appropriate for the 19th
hole. Dressy jeans, and proper golf and tennis attire are
permitted. Swim wear, gym shorts, sweat pants, tee shirts,
bare midriffs, tattered clothing and exercise clothes are
not permitted in the 19th Hole.
The Garden Room
The Garden Room is available for small groups and
private parties of 30 or fewer guests. Reservations are
required. The Garden Room is generally available
whenever the Dining Room is open.
Private Events
The Dining Room and Garden Room may be reserved
for private events. The LFCC Room Rental Policy
describes room rental charges and minimum spending
requirements for food and beverage.
Stingray’s Poolside Grill
Stingray’s is generally open during the spring, summer
and early fall, subject to weather and other conditions.
Dining members may not use Stingray’s. Reservations are
not accepted. Members may bring up to 4 guests at one
time. Parties with more than 4 guests require
management approval. Casual attire, golf and tennis attire,
exercise clothes, tee shirts, tank tops, and swim wear is
permitted inside Stingray’s and on the pool deck.
Dining Guests
All guests using any of the dining facilities must be
accompanied by a member. There is no restriction on the
number of times a guest may use the dining facilities.
There is a limit of four guests per day at Stingray’s
Poolside Grill. Parties with more than four guests must
be approved in advance by management.
Minimum Spending
Each member is obligated to incur food and beverage
charges of at least $175 each quarter-year period. Taxes
and service charges do not apply to the minimum
spending requirement. Members will be billed for any
unspent minimum remaining at the end of the quarterly
period. The minimum spending obligation can be prepaid, thereby eliminating the quarterly requirement.
Charge Tickets
Members are responsible for signing their charge tickets
and ensuring that all charges on the ticket are proper.
GOLF
The golf course will normally be open Tuesday through
Friday from 8:00am until dusk, and 7:00am until dusk on
weekends and holidays, during the golf season. The
course is closed for maintenance until Noon on Mondays.
The schedule will vary based on weather conditions. The
course will occasionally be closed until 6:00pm on
Mondays for private golf outings. Please check the
monthly calendar.
All golfers must register at the golf shop prior to
commencing play. Each golfer must have their own set
of clubs.
Groups of five will not be permitted from April 15
through October 15.
The entry deadline for most golf tournaments is Noon
the day before the tournament. Entries received after
that time will be alternates.
Play is unrestricted for children under 14 years of age who
are playing with a member Monday through Friday.
Children under 14 may not play until 2:00pm on
weekends and holidays. Children under 14 playing
unsupervised may play after 2:00pm on Monday, Tuesday,
and Thursday through Sunday. On Wednesday, they may
play between 2:00 and 5:00pm.
Course Rules and Etiquette
All golfers are expected to comply with course rules and
etiquette standards.
❖ Practice on the course is not permitted.
❖ Replace all divots and repair all ball marks on the
greens.
❖ Rake all traps, leaving the rake in the trap. Do not walk
up the slopes of the traps.
❖ Place bottles, cans, and other waste in proper
containers. Comply with specific rules for hand carts
and electric golf carts.
❖ Do not hit until the way ahead is clear. Be aware of
maintenance personnel and insure that they see you
before hitting.
❖ Keep the pace. If there is an open hole ahead of you,
invite faster groups to play through.
Guests
Each guest must be registered with the golf shop. The
Golf Shop will maintain guest records.
For the purpose of golf, guests are classified as “in-town”
if they have lived within a 35-mile radius of the
Clubhouse for a period of 30 days or more within the
current calendar year. “Out-of-town” guests live and/or
work outside a 35-mile radius of the Clubhouse.
In-town guests may play four times per calendar year and
must be accompanied by a sponsoring member.
Generally, groups with in-town guests may not play
before noon on weekends and holidays. However, tee
times before noon may be available and can be requested
beginning at 1:00pm on Fridays.
Out-of-town guests, excluding House Guests, may play
eight times per calendar year. They may play
unaccompanied during non-holiday weekdays. The
sponsoring member must call the golf shop in advance.
Out-of-town guests may play without restriction on
holidays and weekends when accompanied by the
sponsoring member. The limit of eight rounds per year
will be waived for former Equity members now residing
more than 300 miles from Champaign, if they resigned in
good standing and were active for more than five years.
On Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, at least one member
must accompany each foursome. On weekdays other
than Monday, a member may sponsor a total of seven
guests without prior arrangement and may have a total of
fifteen guests with prior approval of the golf pro. The
pro, at his/her sole discretion, may not approve the
guests if the requested date and hour will materially affect
the use of the course and the availability of golf carts for
other members. More than fifteen guests is defined as “a
golf outing” and as such will be restricted to playing on
non-holiday Mondays. A request to sponsor a golf outing
must be submitted in writing to the board of directors,
setting forth the expected number of golfers and any
food and beverage service requested. Payment for all
outing expenses is due within 24 hours of the event.
Please refer to the “LFCC Golf Outing Policy” for
further information.
A House Guest is an out-of-town guest staying overnight
at the home of a member. House guests may have full
use of the Club facilities after payment of a nonrefundable weekly fee.
The golf hop shall have the discretion to allow guest play
in circumstances where the above rules might otherwise
disallow such play.
Hand Carts and Electric Golf Carts
Electric carts should be operated on the cart path. Follow
the daily cart restrictions as posted near the golf shop:
Cart path only, 90 degrees, and spread. Electric carts
should never be operating in areas designated as “No
Carts”. Vary driving and pulling patterns to minimize turf
damage and to maintain the best appearance and playing
condition of the golf course. Carts should never be
operated or parked within 30 feet of the green or
anywhere between the green and the surrounding traps.
To speed up play, park your cart on the far side of the
green or on line to the next tee. Members are liable for
accidents and any damage caused by the operation of
their cart and should check their insurance coverage.
Electric Golf Carts
Occupancy is limited to two persons and normally two
golf bags. A third bag may be authorized by the golf shop
with payment of an additional fee. Unless safety demands
otherwise, carts should be operated at full throttle as slow
operation damages the batteries. Always park the cart
with the brake on and out of the line of play. After heavy
rains, when frost conditions exist, or when carts could
cause damage to the course, cart use will be restricted.
Check the sign posted near the golf shop for the status of
any restrictions. Cart operators must be 16 years of age
or older and possess a valid driver’s license.
Privately Owned Golf Carts
Members may apply to operate a privately owned golf
cart by submitting the application form and paying the
applicable cart fee. Approval is generally limited to those
who have direct access to the golf course without
crossing others’ privately owned property. Operation is
authorized for the purpose of playing golf, travel between
residences, and to and from the Clubhouse. Joy riding
on the course is not permitted. Privately owned carts may
not be loaned, rented or operated by anyone other than
the owner and his/her family, except when made
available to the Club for special functions and outings.
The cart owner is personally liable for damage caused by
his/her cart and proof of insurance is required. Carts
may not be stored on Club property.
Dress Code
All members, their children and guests are required to
follow the dress code policy when using the golf course.
Male golfers must wear collared shirts (mocks are
acceptable). Female golfers my wear collared or noncollared shirts. Shoes must be worn at all times. Players
should wear spikeless or soft-spike golf shoes, tennis
shoes, or other soft-soled shoes that have been approved
by the golf shop. Shorts must be walking length. Hats
and visors must be worn brim forward. Cut-off shorts,
muscle shirts, tee shirts, swim attire, including cover-ups,
tank tops, halter tops, racer-back exercise tops and bare
midriffs are not permitted. Denim is permitted before
April 15th and after October 15th. Please see the “Tasteful
Casual Attire” policy for guidelines on acceptable denim.
THE POOL
The pool is generally open from May 1st through
September 30th. Daily pool and life guard hours will vary
depending on the weather and time of year. The pool
may close if weather is threatening, if thunder or lighting
is present, or if the temperature is not predicted to reach
70 degrees during the day.
The following policies have been established to ensure
the safety and enjoyment of all members and will be
strictly enforced. Members and guests who do not
comply may be suspended from the pool for the rest of
the season at the sole discretion of the General Manager.
Parents must supervise their children. Lifeguards are on
duty to ensure pool safety and enforce pool rules. When
lifeguards are on duty, children under age 12 must be
accompanied by an adult or an approved
caregiver. When no lifeguards are on duty, children
under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult or an
approved caregiver. A caregiver must be 14 years of age
or older and must be given express authority by the
parent or guardian to supervise, manage and control the
child, whether a member or a guest, at all times while the
child is at the pool and/or Stingrays. Parents who utilize
a caregiver must provide written notice to the General
Manager, including the name and address of the caregiver.
Non-member caregivers who are properly registered will
not be charged a guest fee.
Children who use the slide or diving board must be able
to swim without assistance.
Do not hang from the basketball hoop or sit or hang on
the rope.
Do not jump from the guard chairs.
The lifeguards and pool manager have the authority to
suspend swimmers from the pool for the remainder of
the day for improper behavior of any kind, including
roughness, rowdiness, running, shoving, etc.
Do not enter the pool area when the pool is
closed. Members who swim when the pool is closed may
lose pool privileges.
Food and beverages from outside the club may not be
brought onto club property.
No glass of any kind is permitted on the pool deck or in
Stingrays.
Do not reserve chairs, or leave towels and other
belongings on unoccupied lounge chairs for more than
30 minutes. Lounge chairs left unoccupied for 30 minutes
or more may be offered to other members. On busy days,
at the manager’s discretion, children under age 14 may
not occupy a lounge chair on the pool deck. Parents may
be asked to remove children’s towels from chairs to
accommodate adult members.
Generally, reservations are not accepted at Stingrays or
on the pool deck. Private parties must be approved in
advance by the General Manager.
Pool Guests
Guest policies will be strictly enforced. Guest fees are $5
per guest for Equity members and $10 per guest for all
other membership classifications. All members and their
guests must sign the registration book or register with the
pool guards. Members must provide their name,
membership number, the names of any guests, and
signify whether they are in-town or out-of-town guests.
In-town guests are limited to 5 visits per year. This
includes family members. There is no limit and no charge
for the grandchildren of Equity members. All other
grandchildren will be charged the $10 guest fee.
Dining members may not use the pool or Stingrays unless
accompanied at all times by a non-dining member.
Dining members who are guests at the pool must pay the
$10 guest fee. Additional guest policies and restrictions
may be established from time to time by the Board of
Directors.
TENNIS
The tennis courts will generally be open every day from
7:00 a.m. until dusk during the tennis season. Operating
hours may vary due to weather and other conditions.
Tennis reservations may be made through the tennis hut.
Players with reservations have priority over those without
reservations. Reservations may be made on the day of,
or one day before play, for periods of one hour for singles
and one-half hour for doubles. Juniors may reserve
courts not earlier than two hours in advance of play.
Juniors may play with a parent any time the courts are
available and without a parent at such other times as the
courts are available. Appropriate tennis attire and
smooth soled shoes are required for everyone within the
tennis fence. Shirts must be worn at all times. Food and
drinks are not permitted within the tennis fence. Guest
fees and playing restrictions will be established by the
Board of Directors. Members are responsible for
registering their guests and paying any fees.
BYLAWS
In addition to the House and Grounds Rules, all
members, regardless of membership classification, are
subject to the bylaws of Lincolnshire Fields Country Club.
The bylaws govern membership classification, board and
committee structures, and the privileges and voting rights
of Club members. In addition, the bylaws prescribe how
the Club’s finances must be managed, how assessments
and dues may be levied, when and in what form meetings
must be held, the remedies for arrearages and misconduct
and procedures for transferring or cancelling
membership. A copy of the bylaws is available upon
request.

intoxicated will be served alcoholic beverages. All

their charges, verifying their member number and signing
their tickets.

“Designated User”) with whom the member could enter

State of Illinois to have the same privileges as a

made in writing to the Board. The member is responsible
for all charges made by the designated user.

employees. All complaints should be made to the
General Manager. Employees may not be invited as

includes damage to property adjacent to the golf course
and damage caused by errant golf balls.

upon request. The directory is private and for the
exclusive use of Lincolnshire members. It must not be
shared with non-members or used for solicitations of any
kind.

Members and their guests may park in the Club’s parking
lot while using the facilities. Vehicles may not be stored
on club property or left overnight without the prior
approval of club management. Parking is not permitted
in the driveway or under the canopy near the west
entrance. This is a fire lane. Violators will be towed.
Parking in spaces designated as Handicap Parking is
reserved for members and their guests who display the
