personalization as well as all POS equipment.
• Understanding of the many manufacturing and personalization
adjustments needed for a successful card program rollout, as

disciplines.
• Understanding of the relevant ISO specifications that must be
adhered to, or challenged, to get the design or shape you desire.
• Understanding which card shapes would be more costeffective to set up and run on an ongoing basis.

1. Your concept is ready?
At this stage, Oberthur can help engineer a manufacturing and
personalization solution that will allow your card design to
become reality. Oberthur will charge you an engineering fee.
2. You have an idea?
You may come to Oberthur at the "pre-concept" or "concept"
stages and for a fee, receive more complete engineering and
project consulting support.
Development & Production Time
The development and production time will vary greatly
depending on the desired shape and design, the financial
commitment of the card issuer to meet a particular deadline, and
whether you are in the pre-concept, concept, or concept
finalization stages. For instance, the Pre-production Program
development timeframe for a card-shaping project in the concept
finalization stages is approximately 2 - 9 months, depending on
the shape desired.
