Profile
Originally from Okinawa Japan, Shinya lived in Tokyo
where he graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture. After
completing his undergraduate degree, he came to the
US to attend the graduate program at The Ohio State
University where he completed his Master of Architecture
degree.
Shinya has been involved in a large variety of architectural
typologies, both nationally and internationally, through the
course of his career. Urban design, Higher education,
Schools, and child care are few of the project types that
he has worked on. Shinya has also worked on several
award winning international design competitions.
Outside of his interests in architecture, Shinya has a keen
interest in reading books related to early 20th century
philosophy and contemporary arts. He also enjoys playing
outdoor sports, especially soccer. He and his wife
Chantelle have one son, Kaji and one daughter Eeza.
