Prayer for Today
Lord we praise you that we have the freedom to worship you, the
freedom to pray to you and the freedom to share the good news of
your kingdom with others. We pray for those countries where
Christians have to worship in secret and pray privately due to the fear
if being arrested, and cannot openly share the love of God with
others. Amen.

LUNCHTIME CONCERT
The concert is on Friday, 12th May at 1 p.m. Light lunches will
be served from noon, Concert Admission £5. John Wallis will
perform Songs and Humour from the days of Music Hall and
Variety.
John was in the Good Old Days at Leeds City Varieties in 2014.
Come and enjoy a very light-hearted and humorous entertainment.
Our building work is completed, we have more space, more flexibility,
better facilities. So, what’s next?
How can we best serve our local community?
How can we meet the needs of those looking to meet with God
in the 21st century?
What would you like to see this church provide?
Come Shwopping!
Wetherby Methodist Church will be hosting a shwopping event in
the church halls on Friday 5th May to help the young people with
their air fares to Nepal for our Tearfund trip.
For any of you who are not familiar with this idea, shwopping is
where you bring any number of good-as-new clothes, accessories
and jewellery that you no longer want/need and swap them for the
same number of items that you do want/need. You pay £5 for the
privilege of joining in and refreshments are included. The evening
will start at 7.00pm.
Tickets are available from Katherine Barlow, Heather Shipman or
Alan Bell
We want to know what ideas you have for taking this church,
both the building and the people, forward into the next 170 years.
We would therefore like to invite you to join us for coffee on Saturday
morning, 13th May from 10am until 2pm to look at ideas already
suggested, make comment and/or offer your suggestions.
Can’t make it on 13th May?
