will take place
NEXT Saturday, October 10th at the 5:00pm Mass
in the High School Chapel
with a reception to follow in the high school cafeteria.
Please come by to wish him all the best.
Corona Self-Help Center, Inc. A representative of the Corona Self-Help Center, Inc., also known as Drogadictos
Anonymous (DA), will give a brief personal testimony after the Masses today. DA is an organization with roots in
Mexico that works with individuals and families suffering from substance abuse problems free of charge. DA’s
recovery programs are drug-free residential settings, with treatment stages reflecting increased levels of personal
and social responsibilities. With an approach similar to other 12-step programs, DA particularly serves those most
in need. All DA representatives are former drug addicts who have found a new lease on life because of the spiritual
component and programs offered to them by DA.

Do you know about e-giving to the parish
E-giving is short hand for electronic giving. It is a method
of sending your weekly donation to the parish via
electronics rather than the traditional weekly offertory
envelope. (If you use E-Z Pass you know what it is). You
can register online or the parish can give you a form to
authorize the parish to withdraw donations directly from
your bank account or credit card which in turn gets
deposited directly into the church account. Advantages
are many.
Two easy ways to register
1. You simply go to www.parishpay.com and follow the
prompts to register yourself
2. You can pick up a registration form at the rectory
office and we can do it for you.

THE FACE OF MERCY
Pope Francis has announced an extraordinary jubilee year
in his papal bull of indiction “Misericordiae Vultus”
beginning on the feast of the Immaculate Conception. “The
time has come to take up the joyful call to mercy once
again”. The motto of the Holy Year, which will end on the
Solemnity of Christ the King 2016, is “Merciful like the
Father”. The essential parts of the jubilee will be
pilgrimages, the spiritual and corporal works of mercy, the
sacrament of penance and indulgencies. The Holy door of
Mercy will be ceremoniously open in St. Peter’s Basilica on
December 8th and all cathedrals throughout the world will
ceremoniously open their great doors of mercy on the
following Sunday, the 3rd Sunday of Advent. See the “Bull”
on The Holy See website

good deed! If you can drive and have a few hours to spare on a
Monday evening once a month, the Irish Volunteers for the Homeless
program run by Aisling Irish Community Center needs your help!
They need drivers (transport provided) to bring volunteers down to
Manhattan on a Monday night and hand out food to the homeless. It
only requires a commitment of a few hours once a month or less, and
is a great act of kindness towards those who are less fortunate.
