Our representatives have been calling
members since early January 2011
and will continue to do so throughout
the year. Not all members will be
contacted, but we are targeting a large
sample.

General Manager
Dear members,
I would like to take the
opportunity of this quarterly
newsletter to give you
the highlights of our
General Assembly that took place on April 26, 2011.
Many of you came to the meeting this year to hear
about your Caisse’s financial performance and the
progress achieved on our cooperative difference,
of which we are truly proud.
In order to enhance the “consultative” and “voting
rights” aspects of our democratic system, we used an
interactive voting system to enable members to express
their opinions on various points of the proposed
agenda. Thanks to that technology, we can share with
you some of statistics gathered during the evening:

Finally, I’d like to mention the 20th anniversary of the
Desjardins Environment Fund for socially responsible
investments. Recognition of Desjardin’s commitments
took place several days before our General Assembly
and was framed by Earth Day celebrations. In 2010,
Desjardins Funds became a signatory of the Principles
of Responsible Investment – a United Nations (UN)
initiative –, a member of the Boreal Leadership Council,
and a signatory of the Boreal Forest Conservation
Framework.
In keeping with those commitments, your financial
services cooperative took a number of steps to ensure
that the Annual General Assembly was conducted
according to eco friendly principles.

A partnership totalling $75,000 over three years
(2010 to 2012) was concluded with the Fondation
Joseph François-Perrault to renew its stock of musical
instruments. The Board of Directors is proud to provide
this support to young musicians attending JosephFrançois-Perrault School and wishes the kids well as
they continue their musical education.
