Fixes
Fixes
Software fixes are listed in chronological order, from oldest to newest software version. Unless otherwise noted, each new
software version includes all the software fixes added in previous versions.
Version E.11.22
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.22.
■
Crash (PR_0000057007) - Switch may reboot unexpectedly with an error similar to the following: Software
exception at ppmgr_tcounters.c:175 -- in 'mPmSlvCtrl', task ID = 0x402ad10c -> ASSERT:
failed.
■
Module Crash (PR_0000043996) - Re-inserting module J4907A may result in eChassMgr module crash.
■
Module Crash (PR_0000047076) - Module can fail with task eDrvPoll when sFlow is enabled. Example message:
chassis: Slot B Software exception at msgSys_drv.c:529 -- in 'eDrvPoll', task ID =
0x41e6f720.
■
Multiple Symptoms (PR_0000056829) - When the uplink port of the WESM is a member of an access-controller
client VLAN, the following three issues may occur:
1) Rebooting the WESM can result in a hang.
2) Web user interface may be inaccessible.
3) RPs are not adopted by the WESM.
Version E.11.23
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.23.
■
ARP (PR_0000057394) - Receiving a gratuitous ARP may cause the switch to not route until the ARP cache is
cleared.
■
Module Crash (PR_0000059805) - A switch module might reboot unexpectedly with task eDrvPoll when sFlow is
enabled.
Version E.11.24
Status: Never released.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.24.
■
CLI (PR_0000051188) - If the switch uses DHCP to obtain an IP address, the output of show ip does not display the
correct default gateway. This is a display issue only; the correct gateway address is used by the switch.
■
CLI (PR_0000058067) - When the switch is configured with a default gateway, the output of show ip route gives
incorrect values for Metric and Distance. However, communication with the default gateway works properly.
Version E.11.25
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.25.
■
Management (PR_0000053533) - The ProCurve Manager (PCM) test communication parameters test might fail on
the second attempt.
5
Fixes
Version E.11.26
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.26.
■
Authentication (PR_0000058441) - User authentication fails if the user's RADIUS configuration includes a nonHP VSA before any HP VSAs. Workaround: Configure the user in RADIUS with at least one HP VSA before any nonHP VSAs.
■
Web Management (PR_0000060662) - The web user interface displays the word Status at top of screen even though
there is no status information provided.
Version E.11.27
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.27.
■
CLI (PR_0000064363) - When a user issues the command show interfaces all on a chassis that has no modules
inserted, the system generates the error message Cannot use a member of a trunk: all.
■
FFI/Config (PR_0000039989) - FFI - If an FFI event is triggered, and then the link is brought down and back up
again, the same FFI event will be triggered again in about 20 seconds even if the trigger condition isn't met. Config This fix makes the downgrade of the port to auto-10/100 visible in the running configuration. Note that this may trigger
the switch to ask Do you want to save current configuration? upon logout or switch reload.
■
SSL (PR_0000064686) - After copying the CA certificate to the switch this error message is received: Error
setting CA Signed Request Configuration - No certificate is installed.
Version E.11.28
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.28.
■
STP (PR_0000065454) - Issuing certain CLI commands can cause a momentary delay in sending STP BDPUs to
downstream neighbors.
Version E.11.29
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.29.
■
Crash (PR_0000066764) - The switch might crash during high resource usage with a message similar to: NMI event
SW:IP=0x002debbc MSR:0x0000b032 LR:0x002dec38 Task='mSnmpCtrl' Task ID=0x10f5580.
■
SNMP (PR_0000062078) - The output of the show ip ospf trap command may not display the configuration
information, even when traps are configured and working properly.
Version E.11.30
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.30.
■
6
SSL (PR_0000070330) - After copying the CA certificate to the switch this error message is received: Error
setting CA Signed Request Configuration - No certificate is installed. This improves the
original SSL fix (PR_0000064686) in E.11.27.
Fixes
Version E.11.31
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.31.
■
SNMP (PR_0000071585) - The output of an SNMP getmib is off by one EventDescription number. For example, a
getmib output showing EventDescription 76 means a port is now online, but the EventDescription # should have been
75 for a port that is offline. This can affect trap receivers that parse the SNMP response.
Version E.11.32
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.32.
■
IGMP (CR_0000103101) - The switch forwards joins to all queriers instead of only to the querier for the VLAN on
which the join was received. This can result in intermittent flow failures.
■
Module Crash (PR_0000071446, CR_0000076434) - A switch module might reboot unexpectedly with task
eDrvPoll when sFlow is enabled, with a message similar to the following. chassis: Slot H Software exception
at msgSys_drv.c:529 -- in 'eDrvPoll', task ID = 0x402f1284.
■
SNMP (CR_0000102629) - In switch software the OID suffix for hpicfBridgeRstpPortPathCost is 7 and for
hpicfBridgeRstpForceBpduMigrationCheck the OID suffix is 6, but the reverse is actually correct.
Version E.11.33
Status: Never built.
Version E.11.34
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.34.
■
IGMP (CR_0000108874) - The switch drops IGMP Joins and Leaves that are received on the Querier port.
Version E.11.35
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.35.
■
Secure Copy (PR_0000073633, CR_0000078310) - File transfer fails when using Secure Copy (SCP) or Secure
FTP (SFTP) to download the switch operating system. The error message error while reading: received
a short buffer from FXP_READ, but not at EOF has been observed.
■
SFTP (PR_0000073630, CR_0000078309) - SFTP sessions may not close when the client disconnects, resulting
in session resources remaining open.
■
Switch Hang (PR_0000073576, CR_0000078276) - Switch can hang or reboot if transferring a config file > ~4300
bytes using SCP in SFTP mode. Smaller configuration files do not exhibit the problem.
Version E.11.36
Status: Released and fully supported, and posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.36.
■
CLI (CR_0000114191) - CLI help lists LACP as IEEE 802.1ad rather than 802.3ad.
■
SNMP (CR_0000113034) - SNMPget of object dot3adAggPortListPorts returns extraneous comma and space
characters, which can affect scripts based on the SNMPget output.
7
Fixes
Version E.11.37
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problems were resolved in software version E.11.37.
■
DHCP Snooping (CR_0000126311) - The CLI entry dhcp-snooping option 82 untrusted-policy keep is not included in
the config file if no dhcp-snooping option 82 is also configured. If the config file is saved to a TFTP server, it will not
function properly when subsequently loaded on a switch.
■
Module Crash (CR_0000111233) - A switch module might reboot unexpectedly with task eDrvPoll when sFlow
is enabled. This CR_0000111233 is an improvement of the previous Module Crash fixes (PR_0000047076,
PR_0000059805, and CR_0000076434).
Version E.11.38
Status: Released and fully supported, and posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.38.
■
IGMP (CR_0000127628) - In a topology where the host connects to a querier, the querier connects to a non-querier
switch, the non-querier switch connects to a router, and the multicast source is beyond the router, the host might not
receive the multicast stream. This happens because a "join" from the host that is received by the querier is not
forwarded by the non-querier switch.
Version E.11.39
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.39.
■
Multicast (CR_0000135085) - With sFlow and PIM enabled, the switch sends duplicate multicast packets which
cause distortion in the multicast stream. This affects multicast streams that are routed.
Version E.11.40
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.40.
■
Latency (CR_0000139386) - A client might experience poor performance from routed traffic if the client is using
MAC-based or Web-based authentication and is connected to a port configured for the client's authentication method
and also 802.1X authentication.
Version E.11.41
Status: Released and fully supported, but not posted on the web.
No problems were resolved in software version E.11.41.
Version E.11.42
Status: Released and fully supported, and posted on the web.
The following problem was resolved in software version E.11.42.
■
8
Web Management (CR_0000145618) - The Web user interface is inaccessible to clients using Java version 7, update
51 (Java 7u51).
