Using stop-motion animation and digital post-production editing, students produce brickfilms much like the ones viewed on YouTube. This hands-on program will introduce you to greenhouse and outdoor gardening. In addition, we will do a variety of fun projects using the gifts from nature, like making birdseed feeders, herbal tea bags, and dream pillows. The final project will involve simple story telling, dialogue, cover and character design, background and mood. Joe Tomasini is a designer and illustrator and is in the final stages of an illustrated children’s novel and a comic series. These games are played throughout the year in the Physical Education Program at SIS. The games played include dodgeball, capture the flag, boxball, among others. The focus is on individual skill, teamwork, conditioning, and a positive game atmosphere. THURSDAYS - 8 classes, 4/14, 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26, 6/2 Horseback Riding I by Zephyr Farms Grades 2-8 Fee: *$320.00, Instructor: Staff of Zephyr Farm, Time: 4:00-5:00 p.m. Location: Zephyr Farms 219 Watermelon Hill Rd. Mahopac This class is for students who have had little or no horseback riding instruction. During the 8-week course, participants will be introduced to the sport in a fun and safe environment. Classes are run in a lighted, indoor arena. Each class will consist of a 40 minute riding lesson that will teach the basics in balance, position, control and safety and a 20 minute discussion and/or demonstration. There will be no more than 5 students per class. Each class will be led by an instructor and several aides. This class will run with 2- 5 students. There will be one make-up lesson provided TBD.
