Dear Members,
Congratulations to the W.O.T.M. for receiving “Organization of the Year” from the Holly Chamber of Commerce. What a wonderful honor to receive and you deserved it very much. Great
job Ladies!
After three days of trying to repair the switches in the wall in the dining area, I want to thank
Mark and Dave Foss for helping me figure our what wire was which. I must have lost 10# going
up and down the stairs trying to find the correct breaker and on the 3rd day we finally figured it
out with some help from D.K. Thanks to all three of you for helping me solve this mystery!
I want to thank everyone in advance for all the help we will receive for our Annual Wild Game
Dinner which is upcoming in January. Its an event we all look forward to and the cooks prepare
a fabulous meal and the waitstaff and bartenders take great care of us at this annual gathering. We are so appreciative of all of the sponsors who donate prizes and to those who donate
meats and other food items to help make this event a success. Thanks go to Gerry Murphy,
Bruce Hammond and all the rest who make this event occur each year. We couldn't do this
without you. Don’t forget to get your tickets if you don't already have them—The Dinner will be
held on January 21st.
A big THANK YOU goes out to our Junior Governor Vince Palazzolo for repairing our floors—
both by the band stage and under the bar seating. What a beautiful job—we thank you so
much Vinnie!
We also are hoping that our Social Room Director Bob Schultz has recovered well from his recent eye surgery. This is his second go round and we are hopeful it was successful ! If you see
him in the lodge, be sure to thank him for the great job he is doing and all his hard work keeping the Social Quarters, kitchen and entertainment running. He works hard and deserves our
recognition!
Due to circumstances beyond our control, our sidewalk will not be repaired until Spring or early
Summer. The Village of Holly needs to work on gas lines in the area and therefore we have to
be patient but it should be completed sometime in early to mid 2017.
Hoping everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Happy new year! Looking forward to a great
2017!! God bless all our family members in the military and those living far from home.
Fraternally yours,
Felix Galuszka

Dear Members,
I hope that all of you had a Happy Thanksgiving. I know that all of us that attended the
dinner here at the lodge had plenty of good food to eat and had a chance to enjoy each
others company. I would like to congratulate the Holly Women of the Moose for receiving
the Organization of the Year award that they received at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony by the Holly Chamber of Commerce.
May the New Year bring Peace, Harmony and Prosperity, not only in our daily lives but also
here at the lodge. We, as members, want good things that can better our lodge and to do
good things to better our community. This is why we support and believe in the Moose
Organization. You may have heard the saying “A burden heave to one, is borne lightly by
many”. This is the core of the Moose Organization and what makes us unique in our lodges and communities that we support. Along with that it is our responsibility to care for
our children at Mooseheart and our seniors at Moosehaven so that they too have a safe
place to live and are well taken care of.
God Bless Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Thank you all for being Moose members. Hoping you all had a wonderful and happy holiday season!

Administrator

W. O. T. M .
Dear W.O.T.M. Co-workers,
What an amazing couple of months we have had at our Lodge/Chapter. Our Member Retention Week was wonderful with
many activities that helped bring expired members back in to renew and stay a part of our Moose Family. On the 12th of
November the WOTM celebrated our 70th Anniversary as Chapter and had a beautiful party with lots of delicious food and
desserts. Thanks to my fellow Board Members who helped make this event happen and to all that attended and helped us
commemorate this milestone.
We also celebrated with our families at two very well attended events—our Annual Children's Halloween Party and our
Annual Christmas Party. It is such a pleasure to see all the kids and grand kids of our members enjoying themselves and
making crafts, dressed up in costumes or in their Christmas outfits to see Santa. Thank you to Brenda Sepanak for stepping
up to organize and volunteer for these events. Thanks also to Maureen Patton, Michele Wharton, Jill Barger, Sally Crider,
Becky Jones, Meghan Bearden and Lynn Campbell and all the others who helped make all our recent events so successful.
We also send a heartfelt THANK YOU to Red Devil Restaurant for the Pizza for our Christmas party—the kids really enjoyed
it. We also owe yet another huge thank you to Maureen Patton who organized a group of WOTM volunteers to help wrap
gifts with the “Shop with a Cop” event in December. We are so lucky to have so many giving members willing to step in and
help others. It’s a pleasure and honor to be a part of this Chapter with all of you Be sure to check the website and our facebook page to see photos from the Christmas party—we tried to get one of each child with Santa. Thanks to Santa for stopping in and giving each kid their special present.
As you may have heard, we had an amazing honor bestowed to our chapter by being nominated and winning “Organization
of the Year” from the Holly Chamber of Commerce. This honor was announced at the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in downtown Holly on November 25th and we were further honored by being invited to attend the Annual Chamber Holiday party in
December where we were given a framed document announcing our accomplishment as well as a beautiful plaque to display in the lodge. There are so many worthy organizations in the area so this is an honor we do not take likely and are so
grateful for the recognition. This honor validates all the hard work the WOTM does for our community and it belongs to all
of us at this Chapter—without your membership, volunteerism and generous donations, we would not have won this award
nor have been recognized. It is amazing to see the community come to understand what our organization does for the
betterment of Holly, our surrounding communities and of course, Moose Charities, Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Great
job to all and we are still so excited about this great honor!
In a few short months we will be electing new officers to the WOTM Board. Volunteers of all types are always needed and
we welcome you to step in and get involved in our amazing Chapter. If you want to be considered for the election upcoming
in the Spring or have any questions, please contact me or let one of the other Board members know
Back by popular demand is Steak Bingo—for the next 4 months starting January 28 we will hold this monthly event. If you
haven't come to one of our fun afternoons, you are missing out. We hope you will join us. See the calendar for dates!
Lastly, I want to thank our LOOM Board for all their generosity in 2016—whenever we needed help or funding for one of our
parties or other events, the LOOM Board stepped right up to help support our endeavors. We are so lucky to have
a Board that values their WOTM and are so supportive.. Thank you again to our Governor Felix Galuszka and the
rest of the gentlemen on the Board for helping us so often and so generously.
Wishing you all a Happy and Healthy 2017!
Respectfully yours,
Jennifer Spear

Dear Members,
Our new website is up and running and being improved every week with your suggestions. We will continue to fine tune
it and get it as close to perfect as we can. This new site allows us to post our bimonthly Newsletters in the File section, our Kitchen Menu, our calendar with all important dates and times as well as news from the lodge, photos and
even a page for members businesses. It is easily modifiable and we are so excited to unveil it for you. You can find
our website at http://lodge1168.moosepages.org/
We are still seeking someone with an actual camera (yes, digital is perfect but preferably not a phone) to take some
photos around the lodge of both inside and outside that we can use for our website and facebook page. If you have a
camera and want to donate a bit of your time to help, please contact me at [email protected]. Any
photos you take around the lodge or at lodge events can also be emailed to me so we can include on facebook or on
our webpage or in a newsletter. Make sure you check out all the photos already posted in those areas!
If you are no longer interested in receiving your newsletter by mail you can now view it on our webpage or receive it
by email. Please contact me at the above email address or fill out the attached form located below and drop it off
with one of the bartenders to place in the newsletter folder or mail it to us if you aren't coming in to the lodge so we
can start phasing out those who prefer digital correspondence and save our lodge money in mailing costs.
If you are interested in advertising in our newsletter, we will post appropriate ads for free. Ad must be a business
card or business card size and must be in to me no later than the 5th of any month and will appear in our next bimonthly newsletter and can be added to a section on our website for member owned businesses. Also, if you notice
any omissions of birthdays or new members or just plain old errors, let me know—I hope to keep our newsletter as
informative and correct as possible.
Thank you for your continued support of our lodge! As always you can reach me at [email protected]
