Angles
Definition:
 An angle has two sides and a vertex
 The sides of the angles are rays. The rays share a common endpoint (the
vertex)
 Angles are measured in units called degrees
 Example:
o An angle can be named by using the 3 letters
in this order: a point on a ray, the vertex,
and a point on the other ray:
XYZ or
ZYX
o An angle can also be named by using one letter at the vertex

When lines meet to form right angles, then
they are classified as perpendicular lines.
Perpendicular Lines
Lines that cross and have one point in common are called
intersecting lines.

Lines that are side by side, never intersect, are always the same distance apart,
