Dear Mias Tsrbell:
In August, 1930, Calvin Coolidge gave
me permission to make a Story of his Life for
the Theatre,- taken textually from his Autobiography.
I have been at work upon this Story for the past
three years, and shall give it at the Theatre
here in New York in April.
At the Congressional Memorial for Mr.
Coolidge Fe^bjiyary 6th, does it not seem most
appropriate thai 'fi'is**own words taken from his
Autobiography, should be heard ?
I am enclosing
for your critical approval what I have selected
from my Theatre story,- ten minutes in time as admirable for the Memorial Service.
Yes, I know how busy you are, but I am
on fire about the Coolidge Autobiography, and
so I am asking, will you please help me to have
the privilege of giving Mr. Coolidge1s own
words at his Memorial?
