Thus the average drinker will consume the equivalent of 18lbs in weight (nearly one and a half stone per year) whereas those drinking the equivalent of a bottle of wine a day drink the equivalent of 52lbs in weight (3st/10lbs). • A person who has either 3 glasses of wine a day or 1 pint of beer per day consumes 1200 calories a week. • A person who drinks even within the recommended guidelines consumes approximately 62,400 calories per year. • For people who binge (for example the equivalent of a bottle of wine per day) this figure is far higher. They can consume 3500 calories in one week.
