EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The Jefferson Metropolitan Housing Authority (JMHA) is looking for an energetic, innovative and dynamic leader to stabilize, recover and position the agency for long-term sustainable performance. JMHA administers 600 units of public housing, 800 Housing Choice Vouchers and 100 non ACC units. JMHA is presently administered by an interim director and is accepting resumes for a permanent Executive Director POSITION SUMMARY The Executive Director serves as the primary liaison between the Board, HUD and the local community. Is responsible for developing and implementing the agency’s vision and mission and leading JMHA toward meeting its strategic goals The Executive Director is the primary contact for local media and directs agency’s marketing efforts. Oversees all financial activities, including annual budgets, compliance audits, investment of funds and monitors financial performance. Also, serves as the secretary to the Board of Commissioners. The Executive Director is responsible for all Human Resource functions, including hiring and disciplinary actions; Provides executive oversight of all agency operations. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field (Master’s degree and PHM or equivalent preferred). A minimum of 5 years’ experience with Public Housing, Social Services or equivalent Strong technical, analytical, computer and project management skills with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible work experience with 3 years of middle management supervision. Excellent problem solving skills with conflict management expertise Keen ability to interface at all levels of an organization and across diverse cultures Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their influence on the day-to-day management of a public agency Significant financial and budgetary experience and strong strategic planning skills Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills Additional Requirements: Must successfully undergo a criminal background check Must possess a valid Driver's License and be acceptable to the Authority's automobile insurance provider Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States Must be able to work with culturally diverse populations and perform within strict ethical standards This position may require additional training and travel HOW TO APPLY Applications and/or Resumes must be received by Thursday, August 31st 2015.
