To the discerning lighting buyer,
I imagine you’re considering buying a great looking light for your new renovation or home? If so, it’s easy
to overlook the importance of choosing good quality fittings.
Frankly, when cheap and flimsy fittings break, you’re usually on your own. And not many light fittings even
come with a warranty these days. But hey, these days you get what you pay for.
But when you buy El-Electric, you can buy confidently because you’re covered by our warranty:

Why “Sledgehammer Warranty”?
Because our quality smashes those flimsy imports. And if one of our fittings fails to perform, we’ll take it
back and smash it ourselves - and replace it immediately with a brand new unit.
Why are we so confident in our fittings? Simple. El-Electric fittings are all built to last, and last, and LAST.
Here are just a few things that set genuine El-Electric apart from the flimsy imports:
Cast Acrylic not polycarbonate diffuser for full UV resistance for no crazing or cracking.
I have to stop right here and point out that our diffusers - that’s the outside
cover of the light - are made from the same advanced acrylic used in
submarine windows (see right) and helicopter windshields. Watch out for the
imports – they are usually made with very cheap plastics. It’s true acrylic
is more expensive for us to buy. But it lasts so much better that we refuse
to use anything else.
Back to why we can give you this warranty.
We back our products for 10 years because:
We use ultra-durable spring steel clips (not cheap plastic clips) so the unit won’t break the first
time you remove the diffuser to change a tube.
Heavy duty build - suitable for high traffic areas such as kitchens and living areas
We have full service and warranty support based here in Australia.
In short, since my Grandfather founded El-Electric back in 1954,
we’ve never let anything flimsy leave our factory.

CONSUMER WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Definitions:
“Fittings” mean the Diffuser, Aluminium base plate and spring steel clips only on our EL-ELECTRIC
GREEN LITE, PEARL LIGHT, METRO, DISCUS and DECORATOR range.
Fitting Warranty
We warrant the original buyer, with proof of purchase, of any new light fitting that the Fitting will be
free of any manufacturing or material defect for 10 years under normal use. This warranty does not
cover damage caused by unauthorized tampering with the fixture or for use of the product outside of
its guidelines. This 10 year consumer warranty covers the EL-ELECTRIC GREEN LITE, PEARL LIGHT,
METRO, DISCUS and DECORATOR Fittings from date of purchase. In the event of a failure due to
manufacturing faults during normal use, El-Electric will repair or replace the Fitting.
Further Warranties
In addition to the Fitting warranty Tridonic Iron Core, Electronic and B,A,G Electronic ballasts are
covered for the first 5 years of this warranty. Vossloh Schwabe control gear is for 3 years only unless
the project is registered with Vosssloh Schwabe and it then becomes 5 years. The fluorescent tube,
powder coating, foam gasket, terminal block, lamp holder, starter(s) capacitor(s) and wiring is warranted
for one year only when your Fitting was bought from an authorised El-Electric distributor in Australia &
New Zealand. This warranty is in addition to other rights and remedies you have under relevant law and
is in place for Australia and New Zealand purchases only.
Limitation of Warranty
The liability of the Manufacturer under this warranty shall not exceed the purchase price of the product
to which the liability relates. The warranty is a consumer warranty and specifically excludes use in
Marine environments.
Claim Procedure
In order to claim the warranty, you must retain proof of purchase and send it along with the light
fitting (carefully packaged, please) to the address below. The cost of the repair or replacement (at our
discretion) will be borne by El-Electric and the cost of postage by you. Warranty Contact:

Our goods also come with guarantees that cannot be excluded
under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a
replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation
for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also
entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail
to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a
major failure.
