Your soul needs to be with God Psalm 23:1-­‐3 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Psalm 42:1-­‐2 ▪
1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? ▪
The feeling is mutual – He is called Immanuel John 15:4-­‐6 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. ▪

If you do not come apart for a while, you will come apart in a while Your soul needs to be free Psalm 19:7-­‐8 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. ▪

Surrender is the only way to achieve freedom There is a God and you are not Him James 1:25 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and con[nues in it—not forgeCng what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. ▪

The word of God was not given to force us to obey a list of rules His word sets us free to live full and blessed lives
