Welcome Jaguars!
I hope everyone has had a restful summer. We have been working through the summer to get ready for
the 2016-2017 school year. This year will mark our 7th year as a high school serving Salida and Modesto.
Academically, our test scores have demonstrated that our rigorous curriculum, Small Learning
Communities, and Block Schedule have proven successful, so much so that the California Department of
Education has recognized Gregori High as one of California’s Gold Ribbon Schools! Furthermore, our
attendance rate has led the district each of the last five years we have been open, and we plan to continue
this trend. Finally, I want to personally welcome our freshman, our Class of 2020.
Our school year begins officially on Monday, August 8th, but there are several important events here on
campus that you should have on your calendar. All of our freshman, new students, and parents should
attend our Freshman & New Student Orientation being held on Tuesday, July 26th, 2016 at 7:00PM in
the gym. This event is for parents and students and is meant to help answer all of your questions and ease
the transition to high school.
The next big event is CLAW (Classes, Lockers, and Welcome). This orientation is mandatory for every
student attending Gregori High School. Students will receive their school photo ID cards and their class
schedule in addition to their locker, if they are new to us. CLAW will take place on July 26th and July
27th, 2016. This packet includes specific dates and times for the event based on a student’s grade-level. I
look forward to seeing you at CLAW!
Our focus at Gregori High School is rigorous academics and clear communication with our parents and
community. In our seventh year, we are continuing to expand our Science, Technology Engineering and
Math program (STEM), as well as further develop our Small Learning Communities. I encourage you to
utilize the Modesto City Schools’ Parent Portal to track your student’s academic progress and
attendance. Please do not hesitate to contact our teachers, counselors, or administrators via their district

Also, I want all Jaguars to consider contributing to the Renaissance Honor Roll Program by purchasing
your place in history at Gregori High School! The purchase of a personalized brick that is placed on
the Honor Wall at Jaguar Run goes directly into the fund that supports our quarterly Honor Roll events.
