Whiteoak FFA Attends National Convention—
The Mowrystown FFA traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana on October 19, 2016, for the National FFA Convention. While attending the 3-day trip, 24 members, three parents, and one advisor enjoyed taking
tours of Purdue University and Beasley Apple Orchard where members got to pick an apple and a
pumpkin, went through a corn maze, and jumped
on the Jumbo Jumping Pillow. At the last session of
the convention, Courtney Cummings received her
American Degree. The American Degree is only
given to the top 1% of the FFA members in the National FFA Organization. Congratulations Courtney!

The Whiteoak Drama Club has started preparation for an exciting theatrical season.
The Drama Club is practicing now for Spring

The Velveteen Rabbit. Practices are Monday

Tech News—
Audi is quitting the Le Mans to focus on all-electric Formula E.
The Le Mans is considered part of the Triple Crown of Motorsports alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand
Prix. The La Mans 24 Hour race started in 1923 and is one of
the oldest and most prestigious races in the world. Audi has
absolutely dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans ever since
they returned to the race 18 years ago. With 13 wins in those
18 years they have been the manufacturer to beat at the race.
So the announcement that they would quit the World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans race comes as a bit of a
shock.
