Airside Driving and Safety rules
The Airside Driving Rules are designed to meet the requirements of Civil Aviation Act, Civil Aviation
Rules, Health and Safety in Employment legislation and Christchurch International Airport Bylaws.
CIAL requires all persons who drive or operate any equipment on the movement area of the airport
to be the holder of a valid ADP and carry that permit at all times when on duty airside.
Before an ADP is issued the driver must attend an airside driving course and pass a theory test with a
80% minimum pass rate then successfully undertake a practical driving competency test.
Category 2 ADP allows a driver to access on airside:
•
Domestic and International aprons
•
Airfield Road (Aerodrome Perimeter Rd)
•
United States Antarctic program Hard Stand
•
Code E Remote Apron
•
Post and Parceline aprons
•
