MARKET REPORT - DECATUR LIVESTOCK MARKET
Consignments from July 6, 2015 from 205 sellers were 1250 head including: 19 Bulls, 198 Cows, 49 Calves, 108
Longhorns, 250 Stocker Heifers, 315 Stocker Bulls/Steers, 172 Feeder Heifers, 139 Feeder Bulls/Steers. Average price = $1194. Last
sale = $1171. A year ago = $1220. In spite of the ripples that went through the financial markets when Greece announced the country
is unable to develop an action plan to avoid bankruptcy, our market bounced back from last week. With the weaned calf segment
leading the way, 4 weight heifers were $6 higher and 4 weight steers $10 higher on weighted average with replacement quality 5-7
weight heifers $3-$9 higher. Prices on bred cows and pairs reflected the better quality offered as compared to last week.
