The strong surface of our Habito drywalls enables you to fix shelves, curtain poles and TVs, without the
need for noggings, battons, drills or specialist fixings. You can simply screw directly into the wall surface,
making DIY easy and giving you more freedom to have your home just the way you want it. Gyproc High
Performance Wall Systems are engineered to support the way you live. The secret of their effectiveness
lies in an innovative building board, Gyproc Habito, which provides considerably more performance than
standard plasterboard.
CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE FIXING
CAPABILITY OF GYPROC HABITO?
Gyproc Habito uses patent(s) pending technology to provide inbuilt fixing performance in a drywall
system. By using the correct screw you will provide a safe working load (SWL) of up to 15kg per fixing.
We recommend that you follow the manufacturer’s guidance as to the number of fasteners required to
mount a fixture. For example: If a TV weighs 15kg with its bracket and the bracket accepts four fixings,
you should use four screws, even though this provides 60kg safe working load.
CAN I RE-FIX ITEMS BACK INTO THE SAME LOCATION?
Yes, you can re-fix an item back into the same position on a Habito Wall and the load strength
will be largely unaffected.

on the sound insulation performance of a drywall system.

»» When there is no insulation in the cavity and the studs spacing is reduced to 400mm centres, this results in an
estimated 2dB loss in the Rw compared to studs at 600mm centres without insulation.

estimated 0dB loss in the Rw compared to studs at 600mm centres with insulation in the cavity.
2 Sound insulation performances for partitions finished using jointing or plaster skim.
3 To represent worst case scenario, calculations are based on approximate weight of a skimmed system and the
figure are rounded up to the nearest whole number.
4 Width is calculated based on 10mm gap between frameworks. A wide wall thickness can be achieved by
increasing the gap between the studs. The fire performance of the system will remain constant. The acoustic
performance of the system will be enhanced, however for the purpose of design the acoustic performance
should be as stated in the table above.

ceilings incorporating boards with all joints taped and filled, or skimmed according to Saint-Gobain
Gyproc’s recommendations. The quoted performances are achieved only if Saint-Gobain Gyproc and
Saint-Gobain Isover components are used throughout, and the Company’s fixing recommendations are
strictly observed. Any variation in the specifications should be checked with Saint-Gobain Gyproc.
NOTE For heights over 4200mm Donn Deep Track should be used at base and
at head of the drywall system. (Subject to deflection criteria).
