Natural liquid low-viscosity polymer
for mechanized tunnelling and drilling
DESCRIPTION
Mapedrill Bio LV is a liquid natural biodegradable
polymer, characterized by a low viscosity, used as a
stabilizing and clay inhibitor both in salt and soft water
mud, as well as in water-based fluids for drilling.
Mapedrill Bio LV acts on the foam bubbles, gluing them
together, improving foam density before and during the
injection. Moreover, during mucking operations,
Mapedrill Bio LV improves the stability of the spoil,
inhibiting the settling of excavated solids.
Mapedrill Bio LV is particularly suitable for being
employed in clayed grounds.
Mapedrill Bio LV is fully compatible with our Foamer
range.
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
Slurry shields
Mapedrill Bio LV is a low viscosity product; it can
effectively replace bentonite, thus enabling the
preparation of fluids with no solids content. Moreover,
Mapedrill Bio LV has an inhibiting action on swelling
clays and can avoid undesirable viscosity increases
and fine solids dispersion in the fluid.
Mapedrill Bio LV lubricates the EPBM, reducing torque,
cutter wear and accelerating process.
Thanks to its suspension quality, Mapedrill Bio LV is
able to prevent the segregation phenomena, which
normally slow down the discard materials removing
operations.
Fluids prepared with Mapedrill Bio LV have a high
lubricating effect, thus avoiding Mapedrill Bio LV has
a lubricating effect for mechanized tunnelling,
significantly reducing tool wear and cutter face torque
(especially in presence of fine particles) and enhancing
TBM performance.
EPB
The use of Mapedrill Bio LV gives more stability to the
foam produced with foaming agents, also inhibiting clay
swelling.
Mapedrill Bio LV is suitable for use in the presence of
Mg++, Ca++, SO42-, Cl- ions and can be employed also
in contaminated soils.
Mapedrill Bio LV, thanks to its formulation and as well
the liquid form, do not require any specific mixing
equipment (such as high shear mixer).
DOSAGE
– A slurry for Hydroshield: from 0.2 to 2.0%.
– As foaming stabilizer from 0.3 to 1%.
– As polymer for brattice stabilizing mud from 0.2 to
2.0%.
Our technical laboratory is at the customer complete
disposal for optimising the right Mapedrill Bio LV
dosage according to the drilling soil characteristics.
