Prelude
Welcome and Greeting
*Call to Worship
The world cries to us in its distress. How shall we answer?
We cannot pass by as though nothing is wrong.
How shall we answer?
We cannot become so focused on ourselves that others mean nothing to
us.
How shall we answer?
We shall be the neighbor in service, reconciliation and compassion
wherever we can.
Come, let us worship the Lord.
*Hymn No. 660
“God is Here”
*Prayer of Confession
You stand beside a wall with a plumb line in your hand, Lord—the wall
that I have built. What once was a straight, strong wall of protection, a
sanctuary against all that might harm me, is now revealed as a bowed,
bulging, weak wall of separation that I have used to conceal myself
within a dark prison of my own making. I know that your perfect
judgment finds me wanting. Free me, Lord; I am my own worst enemy.
Level my feeble fortress, and rebuild me in the strength of your love
and your forgiveness. Lead me from my darkness into your light. Amen.
….In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven.
*Passing the Peace
The traditional greeting is “the peace of Christ be with
you”, and the response is “And also with you.”

(You are welcome to pray this prayer in any language you choose.)
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
