Ignite your PC passion by encoding and decoding pixel art using algorithms. Work with drag-and-drop coding tools like MIT’s Scratch to jump start the fun. Students will create interactive stories and control characters to travel around the computer screen, all through code. See how computer science shapes the future! AFS.OA; MAFS.G; MAFS.OA Kinetic Art Engineering Capacity 30 45 minutes Experience the action of poetry in motion as students master the mechanics of movement by building a Rube Goldberg-style machine. Teams work together to build a complex machine using pulleys, cranks, gears, marbles, and other engineering contraptions. Combining fundamental forces with creative invention, students will experience the pride of building a wild moving chain reaction. Students are challenged to work together in small teams to build and test working, one-of-a-kind video game controllers using prototyping materials in imaginative ways. Students will also experience the use of 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser cutters to transform ideas into inventions in the digital fabrication lab. MOSI offers overnight camp-ins year-round for groups in search of in-depth exploration and learning. Sleep among your favorite exhibits and experience the thrill of taking over MOSI at night! Radical Reactions We make chemistry fun at MOSI! Discover the elements of science in this ooey, gooey, slippery, slimy overnight experience. Students will explore chemical reactions, create polymers, and see an explosive show they will remember for a lifetime. Includes an Explosive Science Demonstration Show. SC.N; SC.P; MAFS.MD Mission: Moonbase Travel to the Moon on a space transport and help operate a lunar colony in MOSI’s interactive, immersive experience, Mission: Moonbase!
