strong in the month of January.
As a Home Entrepreneur for the past 13 yrs, I was very successful in a
Direct Sales company and won several National Awards and at the height of
my career was making $4,200/week!
People would come up to me all the time at my shows (I was in a Party Plan
Business) and ask two things:
1) How did I get my sales? (My show AVERAGE was around
$650/show) and
2) How did I get my bookings? (I usually booked 2-4 shows from each
show)
Some of you may have heard a Rumour! The Rumour is shhhhh….
January is the slowest Month of the Year in any Home Based Business!
Well, thankfully that’s just a Rumour!!!!
For the 9 yrs I was in the Direct Sales Company I bonused (didn’t do just the
minimum sales) Each and EVERY January!!!!
I’m going to share with you my top 7 Tips how to maximize your January
sales NOW!!!!

Tip#1 Connect and Build Bridges with Customer
Scene #1
So, it’s near the end of the year! September, October, and November have
been totally amazing. Sales have been through the roof, you are glad there is
a lull so that you can finally slow down for your own Christmas Agenda.
Then, a funny thing happens! It’s January 5th and you have no shows left!
No customers to talk to!
Realizing, yikes, how did this happen? I better get on the phone and do
some calls!
So in a panic you start phoning a tonne of customers, hostesses, then you
bug your best friends (again!) to please look at the new catalogue andask,
“Do you think you might wanna have a party????”
Sound familiar?
How does this sound instead?
Scene #2
It’s January 5th and today I’m calling my 6 hostesses that I already have
booked, letting them know the new catalogue is in, it’s amazing and I give
them 3 great New ideas that they can tell their guests about to help get them
to the shows!
They are:
1) Fabulous Gifts for each guest in attendance
2) New products at the show
3) Shipping is on me (or whatever you want to offer)
If you had been building Bridges behind you then Scene #2 is totally
possible, if not, it’s not too late!

What is your promo for January?
For example a well known company is offering a Monday Madness! Every
Monday in January the hostess is going to receive amazing gifts!
With sales over $400 you get - extra gift
With 10 or more orders extra gift, can purchase $125 of product for $35
Book on a Monday extra % in free product
So for a $400 show, with 10 orders a hostess can receive $285 worth of
products for $35 plus tax and shipping! YIPEE!!

Tip #4 Calendar Control
Do you control your calendar or does your calendar control YOU???
If you haven’t already purchased a pocket day/planner I would also get an
office desk day/planner too!
We’ve already talked about our goals and broken them down, so if you’ve
decided that you need 6 shows per month or 2 etc. now is the time to take
out your calendar!

My little secret! I used to have a phone phobia!
Ask! Ask! Ask!
When we were younger we were taught it was impolite when you are at
someone’s house to ask for something to eat! Wait until it is offered!
How many of us ever heard that?
You need to re-condition that thinking!

Tip #7 The Fun Factor
Do you really love what you do?______
Are you passionate about it?____________
If you are having fun doing what you LOVE to do I can guarantee you one
thing: You will make $$$$!!!
Some people enjoy playing fun games at shows, others don’t. Ask your
hostess!
Some consultants aren’t that keen on playing games and think they are
dumb, if you are one of those, then find one or two games that are more low
key!
Game ideas:
1) Guess the fragrance ( I played this in candle biz, took 10 tealights and
had guests guess them….winner got to keep all ten!)
2) Roll the die game (use those big fluffy car ones) reward with tickets to
receive prize!
