BRAND ASSOCIATION REQUEST
OTTAWA 2017 BRAND ASSOCIATION PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
• To offer unique opportunities to engage in the Ottawa 2017 celebrations;
• To involve all 23 City of Ottawa wards into celebrating Canada’s sesquicentennial;
• To foster Canadian pride;
• To contribute to a vibrant image for Ottawa.
SUPPORT OFFERED BY OTTAWA 2017 TO SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS
• Recognition as a special Ottawa 2017 programming element (right to use the “Proud to celebrate” logo
on internal and external promotional tools);
• Promotional support (event content included on the calendar of events on Ottawa 2017’s website);
• Translation support (for content included on the calendar of events on Ottawa 2017’s website).
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL ACKNOWLEDGE OTTAWA 2017 BY
• Displaying the “Proud to celebrate” logo provided on their promotional tools (ex. web, printed
materials, etc.; final visuals need to be approved by Ottawa 2017).
THE EVENT MUST DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING TO BE SELECTED:
• Be a new or enhanced activity for 2017;
• Include a special 150th component;
• Be open to anyone who’d like to attend and promoted to the public;
• Take place within the geographic boundaries of the city of Ottawa;
• Occur between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017.
NOTE:
• There is no maximum number of requests per organization. Please note that 15 business days are
required to process your request.
• Projects that contain political, discriminatory or hateful programming are not eligible;
• Fundraising projects are eligible if managed by a registered charity;
• To request the use of the official Ottawa 2017 logo, please consult www.ottawa2017.ca/using-theottawa-logo for info on the following options:

Category #1: For the general public;
Category #2: For businesses, non-profits, schools, and community groups without the intent to sell;
Category #3: For businesses and/or entrepreneurs wishing to produce goods for sale with the Ottawa 2017 logo (commercial).

After evaluation by Ottawa 2017, if my event is awarded with the “brand association” recognition, I agree
to the following:
 I accept that the information submitted in this form will be used in the calendar of events on Ottawa
2017 website and I am responsible to notify Ottawa 2017 of any changes in the content.
 I will inform Ottawa 2017 if major changes occur in the project.
 I agree to display the special “Proud to celebrate” logo provided and to follow the Logo Usage Guide
provided (All materials must be approved by Ottawa 2017; Please allow 15 business days to receive
approval). The right to use the special Ottawa 2017 logo is not authorized beyond 2017.
 I agree that “in no event will OTTAWA 2017 be liable to the successful applicant for any indirect,
consequential, special, incidental or contingent damages of any nature whatsoever, including loss of
revenue or profit. These limitations will apply regardless of the Claim, and regardless of whether
OTTAWA 2017 had been advised of the possibility of such damages”.
 I confirm that the event is turn key and will comply with all applicable federal, provincial and municipal
laws and regulations, as well as related laws or guidelines with respect to intellectual property,
environmental matters and the Human Rights Code. I will seek and obtain all required permissions,
licenses, permits, etc. and am responsible for the associated fees (if applicable).
 I carry proper insurance coverage.
 I understand that Ottawa 2017 reserves the right to revoke any prior approval.
