through his scratched planets. Then the player determines which
cosmic object his opponent scratches away.
Planet Surprise
2-8 players | age 8+ | 20+ minutes
Each player takes one scratch card called „Planet Surprise“. All players must have
the same version of the game (eg. B). During the game, they try to hide the front
of their card (for example by covering it with their palm etc.)
Goal of the game: To become the most famous universe explorer!
The player‘s goal is to scratch cosmic objects (mostly planets), which hide the point values under the scratch-off layer. At the end of the game, the revealed values
on your card will be totaled. The player with the highest total is the winner.
The player who most recently been to Mars begins the first round. In each round
everyone plays their move one at a time, from the first player clockwise.
Change of the starting player: There are stars for each action below the action
icon. At the end of each round (when everyone has played their turn), players publicly announce their number of stars (sum of the scratched action areas). If no one
has more stars than the current starting player, nothing changes. If someone has
more stars, then they become the starting player for the next round. If there are
more players with the same highest sum of stars, then the player who is closest
to the starting player from the last round starts the next round.
The player on the move chooses one of the actions. Then scratches the action
symbol on their card and carries it out (thus the action is forever spent).
Here is a description of the available actions:
The game ends at the end of the 10th round, when each player scratches 10
actions. (Number of scratched actions indicates the number of played rounds) In
the case of a tie, the player with less stars wins (based on used actions).

Public exploration: Player announces out loud which cosmic object
he will be scratching. He must clearly describe the object (eg. Yellow
planet). Then he scratches it covertly and immediately sees the point
value. The point value must not be announced!
Private exploration: The player covertly scratches away one cosmic
object. (They do not announce anything)
Hacked radar: The player selects their opponent, and determines
which cosmic object the opponent scratches away.
Scout: The player carries out the „Public exploration“ action and
then looks at the card of any opponent and looks through his
scratched planets. (Opponents must not obstruct their cards)
