BONAVENTURE From our Pastor… The First Reading today (Isaiah 49:14-15) is short, but offers a deep insight of God’s abundant love for each one of us. Even if a mother was to forget the child in her womb, God will not forget you. When we experience difficult times, we can buy into the lie that God has forgotten about us, doesn’t care about us or is too busy helping other people. Sometimes, we even feel we don’t deserve God’s goodness and love because of a current or past sin/fault. In these times, we tend to look elsewhere for love or validation. We buy into seeking comfort from worldly things such as money, food, clothes, power…. But God loves us more than we can ever conceive. We just have to allow ourselves to receive his love which is constantly being poured out to us. When we concede to God, we can humbly say, “Lord, I am not proud of ____. I give myself permission to be loved by you in my weakness, and I ask for the grace to be released from this prison I have made for myself. You are love. You are mercy itself. I place my trust in you.” Amen. God’s Blessings, MAINTENANCE POSITION We are looking for a full time maintenance person to start immediately. Please submit a resume to Fr. Mike Swanton. Circle Rotation as follows: February - Circle 7 & 8 Funer al Dinner s March - Circle 9 & 10 Funer al Dinner s Circle 8 Easter Bake Sale March 20 - Lar ge meeting STEWARDSHIP SPANISH EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP We often say in the Church that stewardship is about the three Ts, time, talent, and treasure, but really, stewardship is about the big "E," which is everything. We are made up of more than just our time, talent, and treasure, and the gifts that come from God are overwhelming. All that we have, from the obvious to the not so obvious, is a gift from God. We are called to cultivate them all and offer them back to God with increase. But that also means holding nothing back. That requires a stepping out in faith. Our trust then cannot be in the gifts God gives, since we have hopefully given them all over to God. Only in God can we place our trust. Our homes, our 401(k)s, our family, and our bodies all belong to God. With nothing left, we have nothing and no one else to put our trust in but God. If you find yourself unable to place all of your trust in God, perhaps you are still holding something back. Is your comfort found in something other than God? It is pretty common for Christians to "hide something away" while saying they are all in. But of course, nothing is hidden from God. Pray about it and ask God to grant the strength to surrender all to him. We are asked to trust in God, but really, true trust is a fruit that comes about when we have had the courage to surrender it all. Trust is just a word if we continue to serve two masters. The great thing is that not only will God not turn away from us, God will also help us turn toward him. You may be asked to surrender it all, but you are never alone. ~Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS © Liturgical Publications Inc WEEKEND COLLECTIONS February 19, 2017 Contributions Received………………………………….$10,744 Year-To-Date Actual Received……………..…….……$679,610 Year-To-Date Actual Budget .……………..…….……$666,740 Net Excess (deficit)………………………...…………....$12,870 LOTTERY CALENDAR WINNERS February 20 - February 26, 2017 $55-(1135) Elizabeth Sand $55-(981) Larry Hamling $55-(042) Doug Behle $55-(326) Dean & Colleen Soulliere $55-(316) Dan & Annette Hellbusch $55-(600) Jerry Sokol $75-(131) John Cimpl SCRIP SALES 02-20-17 02-21-17 02-22-17 02-23-17 02-24-17 02-25-17 02-26-17 Purchase all scrip at St. Bon’s School, or only Wal -Mart, Super Saver & Hy-Vee at the church office.
