”Goin’ Buggy” You’ll find us in the kitchen; you’ll find us in the halls. You’ll find us in the woodwork or climbin’ up the walls. We’re everywhere you go. We may be anywhere, you know! We’re goin’ buggy! You’ll find us on your ceilings. You’ll find us on your floors. We’re crawlin’ out of closets and comin’ in your doors, (chorus) But don’t you swat us, and don’t you smash us, and no! no! don’t use spray! Why don’t you just try goin’ buggy today? You’ll find us on the sidewalk; you’ll find us in the yard. You’ll find us in your garden; won’t have to look too hard. In summer, spring or fall. We may be anywhere at all! We’re goin’ buggy! You’ll find us in your attics and underneath your rugs. You never will outguess us; we’re cagey little bugs. (chorus) Why don’t you give a little bug a huggy. Why don’t you just try goin’ buggy today! “That’s No Way to Treat a Ladybug” Well, I was strollin’ along one fine day in the spring, when a little boy came over to me. And he said, “Look at that thing!” Then he tickled my wing, and I turned just as red as can be. And then he took me to his home. He put me in a jar. Then he stuck me on a shelf on the wall; And I said, that’s no way to treat a ladybug! No! no way at all. Well, I fooled him! Yes, I did! I crawled up the jar and out a hole in the lid! Then on a hot summer day I was wingin’ my way; Then I landed on a blanket, you see. And in a moment or two from right out of the blue, a bunch o’ kids were staring at me. And then they flipped me over once; They flipped me over twice. They were laughin’, they were havin’ a ball; and I said, that’s no way to treat a ladybug! No! no way at all. And then they lifted me up in the air, a shame to recall! They let me drop to see if I would fly or fall! Now I say, that’s no way to treat a ladybug, It’s an uncouth way to treat a ladybug, Just no way to treat a ladybug! No! no way at all! Listen, pal, don’t mess with this gal! “Firefly, Firefly” Firefly, firefly, glowing in the night, Firefly, firefly, what a pretty sight! No battery or wire, yet you set the sky afire, sparkling with your magic light. Firefly, firefly, we would like to know Firefly, firefly, how you keep aglow! Oh, you’re the main attraction with your chemical reaction. Now it’s time to start the show. (chorus) Let your nightlight shine, all around the world. Brighten up the sky for every boy and girl. Let your nightlight shine with a magic glow. Fly on and let it glimmer* (everywhere you go.) (chorus) *With a sparkle never dimmer; keep that bright and happy shimmer everywhere you go. (* second time through chorus, follow * to the end) “The Honeybee Song” (chorus) Bzzz! Bzzz! Bee! Bees! Bees! Bees! Buzzin’ in the bushes, buzzin’ in trees! Buzzin’ around wherever they please. There’s nothin’ so sweet as a honeybee! They gather pollen from the flowers, you see, then fly back home as fast as can be. They work and work so bzzzily to make sweet honey for you and me. Oh, yes, they make sweet honey for you and me. (chorus) And when you bump into a bee again, be sure to say, “I thank you, my friend, for makin’ such a tasty treat. Ooh-ooh! Your honey is oh, so sweet! Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh! Your honey is oh, so sweet! Bees! Bees! Bees! Bees! Buzzin’ in bushes, buzzin’ in trees! Buzzin’ around wherever they please. There’s nothin’ so sweet, There’s nothin’ so sweet, there’s nothin’ so sweet as the honeybee. Bzzt! ”Fuzzy Little Caterpillar” (chorus) Fuzzy ---- Wuzzy! Fuzzy ---- Wuzzy! Fuzzy little caterpillar, just crawlin’ here and there. Fuzzy little caterpillar, just inchin’ everywhere. I’d see the world anew if I could crawl around like you. Oh gee, I’d like to be a fuzzy caterpillar, too. (chorus) Fuzzy little caterpillar, your crawlin’ days are through. Fuzzy little caterpillar, it’s sleepy time for you, When you wake up, you’ll see somehow you’ve changed so magically. Now you’re a pretty butterfly! Come fly away with me. Pretty little butterfly, come fly away with me, pretty little butterfly, come fly away with me. “The Buggy Wuggy” When all the people go to sleep and all the lights are turned „way down low, that‟s when the bugs come out, dressed in their finest clothes. Then they strut around all night through, bees and ladybugs, spiders too; they all come out to boogie at the Buggywug Ball. Oh how they shimmy and jitterbug „cross the floor! And then they twist and wiggle and skitter around some more. Big bugs, little bugs, short and tall. Fat bugs, skinny bugs, wall to wall, all come out to boogie at the Buggywug Ball! See how they boogie, boggie woogie through the night. Stompin‟ and a shakin‟ until the mornin‟ light. Big bugs, little bugs, short and tall, fat bugs, skinny bugs, wall to wall! All come out to boggie at the Buggywug Ball! That‟s all! ”The Bugs’ Bill of Rights” We’re marching off to Washington today, we’ll stand before the Congress! We will have our say! We’ll face them, proud and tall, united one and all, and tell them in a most respectful way: “We know you have important things to do, but we would like to read our Bill of Rights to you. Our future is at stake. Please give us bugs a break! Oh won’t you try to see our point of view?” We realize our cause may take a fight! It’s worth it if they pass our Buggy Bill of rights. Then bugs across the land can all join hand in hand, just goin’ buggy to their hearts’ delight. We’re hopin’ that the Congressmen will say, that they declare a National Buggy Holiday. How happy we will be when folks from sea to sea are goin’ buggy all the way.
