Thank you for purchasing the S10 bass
Xpansion speaker. Please read over
these instructions for best results.
Important! Please fit the USB plug to a
powered USB jack and charge the
speaker before using it.
[1] Charging (8): Plug the USB (5)
charge / audio cable into an energized
USB jack. Then plug the MINI USB plug
into the S-10 speaker. LED (3) will glow
RED while charging and go dark when
battery is full. Maximum charge time is 2
hours.

NOTE: During use, the LED (3) will blink
RED when battery needs recharging.

[2] Playing analog audio files through
AUX input (6): Start audio player and
bring its volume up to middle level. Fit Ycable’s stereo mini plug to audio player’s
headphone or line output mini jack. Fit Ycable’s mini USB plug to S10 speaker.
Make sure there is no micro SD card in
slot (7). Slide Power switch (2) to MP3
position. Rock and hold volume control
(1) in + or – direction to adjust playback
level. Then use volume control on music
playing device to adjust level.
[3] Playing audio files from the SD
card (7): Using a computer, load MP3,
MP4, WMA or WAV files onto micro SD
card. Push card straight into slot, contacts
down until card clicks into place (7). Push
again to remove. Slide Power switch (2)
to MP3 mode position. . Momentarily rock
the volume control to + jump to next file or
– previous file. Rock and hold volume
control (1) in + or – direction for
comfortable level. LED (3) blinks GREEN
during playback. If card is removed or
power is cut, the S10 will start at the last
file played when power or card is
restored.
NOTE: Press the file select button (1) in
to switch between AUX input (6) and SD
(7) card playback.

[4] Playing audio files through the
Bluetooth link: For the first link event
make sure S10 power is off. Have source,
such as a mobile phone, ready to launch
its Bluetooth mode (BT is off but ready to
start). Then:
A - Put the S10 in Bluetooth mode (2).
LED (3) will show some rapid blue blinks,
then a stream of rapid RED-BLUE blinks.
S10 is ready to pair.
B - Launch mobile phone’s Bluetooth
mode and scan for new devices.
C - Phone should scan and display a
list of nearby Bluetooth devices. S10
should appear on the list. Select and pair
with the S10 shown on the list. Some
older phones might need a pairing PIN
number. If so, use “0000” as the PIN.
D - When pairing has occurred the LED
(3) will shift from rapid RED-BLUE to
blinking BLUE when idle and solid blue
when active. S10 is now paired with the
phone. LED will blink about 2 times per
second if the phone’s Bluetooth is turned
off or the phone moves out of range.
Some phones have a “make
discoverable” mode. Try pairing again
with phone in discoverable mode if pairing
attempts are unsuccessful.
NOTE: Every S10 has a unique MAC
number, and must be paired individually
with the phone for it to be recognized.
E - When paired, play a music file and
adjust S10 local volume by rocking and
holding volume (1) in + position until
sound level is at maximum. Beep tones
will be heard when S10 reaches max
volume. Use phone’s media volume
control for the main level control. Use the
phone’s music player software and
graphical interface to choose music files
and desired locations within each file.
Once the S10 is on the phone’s pair list,
future pairing events should only require
steps A and B. Older phones may require
more steps to re-pair.
Some phone’s apps, such as music
players, can be controlled by the S10.
The file selector (1) may be rocked to
jump through files on a playlist, just as
with file selection from SD card playback.
Caution: Momentarily pressing the
volume control IN (1) may assert a last
phone number re-dial function. Press
again to hang up.
NOTE: Analog audio input on the Y-cable
is muted when the S10 is in Bluetooth
mode. However, charging may be
asserted at any time using the Y-cable.
The LED will glow RED AND GREEN or
BLUE at the same time. Colors will mix to
form new hues, showing multiple modes;
not to worry.
[5] Bluetooth speaker-phone: While
paired, the S10 will sound a 4-note trill
when an incoming phone call occurs, then
plays the phone’s ring tone. Calls may be
answered or dropped by momentarily
pressing volume control (1) straight in.
Make sure the microphone (4) is facing
you and the S10 is close to you, or pick
the speaker up and talk into the MIC.
TIPS
Remove the SD card from the S10 and use
external programming methods to edit the
card content. The files on the SD card
cannot be reached by a computer via the
USB Y-cable.
Remove the slip sheet from the bottom of
the speaker. The bare silicone rubber foot
will be better able to grab onto smooth or
textured surfaces. Clean the foot with a
damp cloth when needed to restore its
gripping abilities.
For better bass response, place the S10 on
surfaces that have a bit of flexibility. Larger
wooden, metal or plastic tables or cabinets
of thin or medium thickness are a good
start. Suspended wooden floors can work
too. Ice chest lids work well. Auto
dashboards, trunk lids, hoods and pick-up
truck tail gates can also work well.
Tap a prospective surface with your finger
and listen for some resonance or “give.”
Avoid dead non-resonant surfaces. Avoid
heavy marble or laminate type tables. Any
very rigid or very soft surface will not
provide good bass developement.
Avoid dropping the speaker. The protruding
control knobs can be damaged if the
speaker hits a hard surface. Keep away
from high humidity, or extreme heat or cold.
Avoid blocking speaker grille. Do not
dispose of in fire. Do not disassemble.
The S10 mixes two-channel stereo into a
monophonic signal for the loudspeaker. No
changes to your music files will occur,
except hearing them in mono.
