astronaut. (16) As stated before, he launched in Gemini 8 along with Dave
Scott to conduct the first linkup in space, docking with an Agena target
satellite. (17) Their docking, however, became a precarious situation.

(19) They separated from the Agena, yet the fumbiing continued. (20) One
of the 16 Gemini thrusters was sfuck open, spewing fuel into space, thereby
causing the rolling motion. (21) After thirly minutes of troubleshooting, the
spacecraft stabilized. (22) Mission Control splashed down in a recovery
area in the western Pacific ordering the men to cut the flight short.
(23) On July 16,1969, Apollo 11 astronauts Mike Collins, Buzz
Aldrin, and Neil Armstrong departed Earth for the moon. (24) Several days
later, Armstrong and Aldrin landed their Lunar Module in the moon's Sea of
franquility. (25) First Armstrong, then Aldrin stepped onto the surface
becoming the first men to leave footprints in the lunar dust.
