Year 2 To recognise similarities and differences between two localities and mark on a map To use atlases efficiently to find out more about a certain locality To locate different places at home and abroad, particularly the UK and Africa To recognise features of Africa including landscape, buildings, wildlife and food To plan a route using map work skills To make lists of similarities and differences between places under headings such as homes, clothes, food, farming, transport To be able to assess risk Recognise that land can be redeveloped in a variety of ways
