Rule 1: Words that begin
with a CONSONANT sound
(single SOUND or BLEND)
Take the first
sound

move it to
the end

add the
sound “ay”
 at-cay
 ue-blay
cat = at-cay
scratch = atch-scray
dog = og-day
thick = ick-thay
simply = imply-say
flight = ight-flay
noise = oise-nay

with a Vowel Sound
Add – “-yay”
to the end
about  about--yay
elbow  elbow-yay
is = is-yay
