Text: Mark Twain, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I’ll be using the Norton Critical Third
Edition, but any edition will do. We have copies of the Norton Critical available for
purchase at the Institute. The Norton Critical Edition’s value partly lies in its being a kind
of miniature library of commentaries on the novel. We’ll be referring to some of those
commentaries in our class, but don’t worry; I’ll have them as handouts for those who
are using different texts.
