Non-Road Mobile Machinery Register
Introducing the Energy Saving Trust’s Non-Road
Mobile Machinery (NRMM) Register.
As local government and construction projects
try to minimise their impact on air pollution,
they are implementing policies where the
retrofit of construction machinery is a compliance
option. To support this aim, we’ve developed a
certification scheme for suppliers of pollution
abatement equipment.
The growing need
for compliance
The only one of its kind in the UK, our Non-Road Mobile
Machinery (NRMM) Register is an independent service
for manufacturers of pollution abatement equipment
for construction machinery.
The aim of the scheme is to offer a greater level
of assurance to the construction industry, confident
that equipment listed on the register satisfies
the requirements set out by local authority air
quality policy or the environmental requirements
of development and construction projects such
as Crossrail.
Our certification scheme covers:
• emissions reduction performance
• quality management, warranty
and insurances
• conformity with industry codes
of practice (where applicable)
• maintenance and publication
of technology database
• sign-posting potential end users
to approved pollution abatement
system suppliers and products.
As more construction projects and environmental
initiatives demand that contractors and equipment
meet specific emissions-related criteria, the register
is becoming more relevant.
How will it support
your business?
As a manufacturer or supplier of pollution
abatement equipment for non-road mobile
machinery, being listed on the Energy Saving
Trust’s NRMM Register will demonstrate to your
customers that your products and services meet
stringent standards, having been independently
assessed by the Energy Saving Trust.
As a supplier of non-road mobile machinery
and off-road construction vehicles, using
products from companies listed on the Energy
Saving Trust’s NRMM Register will enable you to
demonstrate that your equipment complies with:
• t ransport and construction sector emission
targets
• c ontractual obligations set by construction
projects such as Crossrail to reduce emissions
associated with its activities during
construction
• p lanning regulations set by GLA and enforced
by planning or environmental authorities.
Examples of non-road
mobile machinery
includes:
• excavators
• earthmovers/bulldozers
• generators
• pumps
• construction machinery
• forklifts
• mobile cranes.
