I wish to participate in Michigan State University Activities Board’s Flag Football
Tournament. I am 18 years of age or older, in good health and physical condition. I
understand that in competitive sports activity, like football, there is risk of personal
injury, or even death. I assume the risks and accept the consequences of my
participation in this event. I understand that if I am injured, I am responsible for any
health care costs that are incurred and I released MSU, its Board of Trustees,
officers, employees, volunteers, and students from liability for any and all claims,
other than gross negligence, arising from my participation in this event.

MSU Flag Football Tournament Rules
1. 7 Players per team will be allowed on the field.
2. Once the ball carrier’s flag is pulled, he is down at the spot of the flag
being pulled.
a. If the ball carrier’s flag falls out of its holster, he is also down at the
spot where the flag fell out.
3. Teams will be granted 1 first down per possession.
a. First Down line will be the mid-field marker.
4. Stalling (QB Kneel, Running out the clock, etc.) is not allowed.
a. There will be a 20 second play clock in effect.
5. No excessive contact will be tolerated.
a. Excessive contact will be determined by the referees and can be
grounds for disqualification from the tournament.
6. After a score, the opposing team will take the ball from the ____ Yard Line
a. There will be no “kick-offs”.
7. When the ball hits the ground, it becomes dead.
a. There are NO fumbles. Diving on the ground to attempt to recover
the fumble will result in a penalty.
8. Every team in the tournament is guaranteed to play one game.
9. While team spirit and creativity is encouraged, athletic shoes must be
worn
10. No foul language or play will be tolerated.
11. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed into the venue.
a. Those thought to possess alcohol or be under the influence of
alcohol will be asked to leave
12. Maximum of (2) non-MSU student players per team. Players MUST
present ID.

Team check-in the day of the tournament (September 6th, 2014) will begin at
8:00 PM. All participating teams must be present to go over the rules at 8:30
PM. The tournament will begin at 9:00 PM. Thank you for signing up, and good
