Assistant and one Consultant for Part Time Assistance in the
Department of Political Science, Central University of Haryana, for
ICSSR funded research project
Project Title: Regional Disparities and Role of Intergovernmental Transfers
in the era of Economic Reforms and Coalition Politics

Assistant and one part time Statistical Assistant/Consultant on or before 10

1. Research Associate/Assistant (1)
Essential qualification:
--For Research Associate: PhD in economics, statistics, political science or
public administration. Preference will be given to the candidates
demonstrating adequate knowledge of Data Mining, Text Mining, Statistical
Computing and familiarity with major statistical packages for qualitative and
quantitative analysis.
--For Research Assistant: Masters or a higher degree (M.Phil/Ph.D) in
economics, statistics, political science or public administration or computer
science.
Desirable Qualifications:
Demonstration of a previous record of having done statistical/econometric
analysis and experience in writing/producing scientific publications or
experience in mixed method research or evidence of demonstrated research
capability.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Project Director for:
a)
Developing qualitative and quantitative tools and making
advanced qualitative and quantitative research analysis.
b)
Collecting data, compilation of datasets and interpretation of
data analysis
Tenure: The appointment shall be purely on temporary basis, initially for
180 days (extendable upto the entire duration of the project or 18 months
whichever is earlier). The appointment shall be renewed after every three
months depending on the performance of project associate/assistant or
requirement of the project.

Selection process: suitable applicants will be called for interview.
Fellowship:
--Research Associate will be paid Rs 16,000/- per month
--Research Assistant will be paid Rs 13,000/- per month
2. Consultant for Part Time Assistance (1)
Qualification: The applicant must hold a PhD degree in economics or
statistics with expertise in use of software packages for qualitative data
analysis such as ATLAS Ti/NVivo and statistical packages such as R, Matlab,
SAS, SPSS, Stata for Advanced quantitative analysis.
Selection process and Remuneration: Specialists will be hired for part time
technical assistance or consultancy. Hiring charges will be fixed based on
their expertise and evidence of professional experience. Persons with
requisite expertise are required to apply along with their credentials and
contact details (e-mail). Based on their profile the P.D. will contact the best
among them and communicate the specific requirement(s) for technical
assistance. The technical assistant/consultant will be asked to quote lump
sum amount as their hiring charges. The most promising consultant will be
hired.
